I love this gym This place reminds me so much of my gym back home here in California — its very similar When I’m in Auckland and missing home, I come Here!

Very good value at Next Generation. You get swimming pools, tennis courts, a restaurant and kicking fitness area with great equipment. Staff are friendly. Premium membership includes towels and parking which is very convenient. Right next to The Domain’s trails should you want to run outside.

I have been coming to Next Generation for a few months now. My Dad has been a member since it opened and he always has exciting things to say about it. So, I finally took the plunge and joined… my first ever gym! I wanted to try all of the facilities before writing a review just to see whether Next Generation really lived up to the hype. So far, the gym has been great, the Zumba classes challenging(but fun) and I went swimming today — it was very refreshing! But the best thing is definitely being able to play tennis! There are about 11 courts to choose from, and all you have to do is book the court in advance and voila, you’re set for the day! And if it’s sunny, jump in one of their pools to cool down — either the indoor one or the outdoor pool on the roof! Another great thing about the gym is that they have a café/restaurant onsite plus a lounge which is a great place to relax and unwind after a work out or come down to one of their monthly quiz nights! Highly recommend Next Generation — all the facilities are spot on plus you will have loads of fun!!!

The facility and equipment is nice and all but imo unfortunately it doesn’t justify charging over $ 1800 for annual membership just to lift some weights or hit a few tennis balls a few times a week. They should offer more flexible plans with reasonable membership fees that suit different people’s needs.

Bro, as far as gyms go, Next Generation is the shit. I have never seen such a nice looking place to work out, and that includes Bodytech(also nice, but not as NEW or as SHINY). It’s labelled a ‘Health and Racquet Club’ and I think that’s because the three times I have been, it has looked like no one is actually working out. I mean, the gym area is fantastic, and there’s an indoor pool AND an outdoor pool on the roof(amazing, and filled with people lazing around on hot days) and obviously a tonne of tennis courts. The facilities are great. You pay a premium for them though — something like $ 40/week. You can go as a guest of a member on one of their guest passes though, so find someone who belongs there and get your ins. The café must get special mention because the food is fantastic. There are smoothies which are brilliant, and the steak sandwich is one of the best I’ve ever had — the fries that accompany it are light and crisp and sat next to a little bowl of aioli. Also, you feel sort of healthy eating there because of your surroundings. Don’t ask me how that works, but it does. Parking is a fricken nightmare, but you can get it included in your membership.

Next generation opened just over a year ago, and it’s very fancy. With pools, tennis courts, workout classes and a massive gym area, however you like to burn those calories, this is your place. Located in a very handy spot right off the motorway it’s really accessible and great for pre or post work exercise. Depending on what membership you get, you can either park under the gym for free or for just a couple of dollars an hour. Walk into Next Generation and you’ll see why it’s called that. It has a fully equipped restaurant serving delicious healthy food and even some naughty things too(read: fries and beer mmmm). There are yummy juices and smoothies and plenty of takeaway items like sushi, cereal and protein bars. The staff are lovely and know their stuff. An awesome place to workout and to socialise, one warning though — it’s very easy to see half your day disappear here, there’s just so much to do!
