Walking into the Ponsonby Mitre 10 is how one might feel if they were kissed by a dementor (aka having your soul sucked out of you). I wish I could give this place no stars, stars give the misleading idea that there’s life to be found. It’s the most horrible, depressing hole I’ve ever encountered. Every step I took i hated myself a little more.
The workers are incredibly rude and sexist (guess that doesn’t come as a huge surprise and that in itself says a lot about the primitive nature of hardware stores generally). They were all unhelpful. I was looking for WHITING (you know, the stuff we use to paint rugby fields with?) and they didn’t know what it was. None of them. Man. writing about this has got me into a rage…
