A wonderful venue for a Sunday afternoon. Outdoor lounge seating under shade, tables out on a deck overlooking Victoria Park with umbrellas, classy atmosphere good for groups. The service was helpful and effective. Food was mixed across the group — the salmon was pretty good and had good presentation, the bbq pork sandwich was average on taste and presentation. As a tip, large groups will need to put down a credit card with the server or pay as they go to avoid non-payment. A ding for the women’s restroom not having any soap in the dispenser despite us being some of the first people at the restaurant that day.

I’ve been to Tom Tom twice, and both times its been great. The couches outside make the place quite unique and the Sunday afternoon jazz is a great touch. Both times we’ve just ordered at the counter, I can see that might not suite some people but I’ve found it works quite well for sunny afternoon lazy lunches. Asahi on tap, fantastic broccoli and cheese bites. Small portions for money, but you’re paying for the experience.

This place is suitable for groups after work, but not suitable for couples. Service, not too bad, very reasonable. Food, both of our main fish and steak were good. But the carrot cake dessert was terrible, horrible, scary and we were not likely to go back because of it. The description was a lava carrot cake. The whole thing was dry dry dry. Nothing was moving like a lava. Did they microwave it? See my picture. The environment was good, nice location and the price was reasonable. If it wasn’t for the carrot cake, it is a possible 4 stars.

Perfect venue for a Sunday afternoon pint or cocktail with friends while swaying to the strain of live jazz music. Beware sitting too close to the band if you want to indulge in any meaningful conversation. Just dress up in your summer gear and try to look cool in your shades!

Came here for a lazy Sunday afternoon drink with friends. Chose a table out on the rooftop deck which overlooks Victoria Park Market. Barman was friendly, drinks came quickly. At first, I thought what a great place to spend a sunny afternoon complete with jazz band, but the music was too loud and made conversation difficult. I agree with Alex’s comment about table service, we may have ordered food if a menu had arrived. Didn’t like that three people were smoking at a nearby table(pretty sure you can’t smoke in bars these days). Decided to go somewhere else.

Tom Tom is good for the layout and the rooftop bar vibe. They provide lots of heating and when it’s busy during the after work crowd rush, it has a great atmosphere. The huge ‘marquee’ type tent with comfortable sofas is awesome(and you can smoke in this area for those freezing nicotene fiends) We ordered ‘Chef’s Platter’ for something to share while catching up over wines. The quality of food was surprisingly quite fancy considering the other half of the menu was burgers and chips The service could be better. It’s not to say it wasn’t attentive but just slighty laid back(not exactly interested for lack of better term) but I feel the whole place is slightly confused. Is it a pub for quiz night with bartender banter? Is it a metro rooftop wine bar with table service? Is it a club and people are going to get extremely drunk? Maybe it’s everything in one but it can be hard to gauge I’m sold for the fact it’s an awesome place to yarn with friends — especially in the sun The nitty gritty details — I’m not as sure on. I spent my time outside whatever the weather so the in house dining and vibe I can’t accurately report!

Great place for a sneaky after work drink on a Friday. Although I was bothered by the fact that pretty much every seat in the place had been reserved on the day I went through. Meant that couches were the only option which weren’t all that comfortable. Bar staff were funny and easy to chat with. They also know their shiz about wine which is actually refreshing to hear from a member of staff. Awesome outdoor deck too which is pretty massive. This place would be better for summer rather than winter. Great clean bathrooms which were private and very accommodating!

We’ve actually been to Tom Tom in January which was quite some time ago. Atmosphere was great, however the food was literally the worst I have ever eaten in my life of 30 years. When I tasted the chicken main(25.50), it felt like I was punched in the head with its saltiness. Not only that, it was infused with an overload of herbs and as a result, we simply could not taste any chicken. For the steak(29.50), chips were amazing but the inside if it looked very grey — not brown. I kept thinking this was because it may have been in the freezer for too long. It didn’t look appealing at all. The steak looked like it would hurt me if I swallowed it. It was off-putting and the taste wasn’t really a steak as I remembered but thought it was way better than what they call«chicken». $ 18 Midori cocktail didn’t taste at all like it had Midori in it so we had to get them to make it again. Waitress didn’t know the cocktails at all. We asked whether a particular one was sweet but she had no idea. She also didn’t know or ever heard of an entertainment card. She had to go and ask questions or bring someone every time, which showed that she was not well trained — frustrating for us.

Tom Tom has one huuuuge deck. Probably one of the biggest in Auckland. Add to that modern outdoor sofas and chairs, a laidback D. J and decent views, and you have yourself a pretty good spot to wile the hours away with a group of friends on a hot summers day. Where Tom Tom let’s itself down is the service. Sometimes it’s table service, sometimes it not and in my experience it doesn’t seem to be dependant on how busy they are(which would be the logical). I also find that the bartenders aren’t, on any level, engaging. Instead they seem to be swapping stories from the night before whilst they are serving you. This may be legit on a busy night but during the day, when it’s quiet, it’s a bit rude. I would recommend checking out Tom Tom if you have a big group and are after a daytime tipple — just make sure you call and reserve one of the amazing sofas.

Love that there are more roof top bars opening in Auckland we were lacking these a few years ago even if the balcony does close at midnight! Huge balcony which was packed on a Friday night and even better that it gets the afternoon sun. Went for a friends birthday and was the perfect spot with large booths over looking the park, ordered an interesting platter which was beautiful along with crispy fries and fresh bread. Only complaint would be they are slow with there service ordering a drink at the bar took almost 20mins, they were packed though so can forgive them for this.
