This is the place to come for consistent bargains. The meat section is particularly great, low cost and we are fortunate that in NZ our beef and lamb is good quality and predominantly grassfed. I wouldn’t come here for organic veges or meat, they trialled out organic chicken but seem to have pulled the range. The managers keep a good eye out for underage people so bring your ID if you are buying beer or wine.

If you grew up in the St Heliers/Glendowie/Glen Innes area, then chances are someone you went to school with will work here. But don’t let awkward primary school reunions at the checkout put you off this place — even though they have slightly less range than their more expensive competitors, their prices are generally the lowest you will find for most products(which to be honest once you add your entire shopping list together saves you quite a lot of hard-earned cash). Of note is their growing international foods section on the far right hand wall as you are on your way out, which is filled with lots of goodies that will remind expats of home.
