This is definitely my favourite RSA in Auckland. We came here during the week and it was nice and quiet, but there were a few people there, enough to spark up a few conversations anyway. We had lunch, I had the fish and chips and there was heaps of chips, two pieces of perfectly fresh, perfectly cooked fish, a nice big pile of salad, all for only $ 17. Cold beer on tap, my friend had a lemonade with rasberry cordial, and that only cost a couple of bucks. Inside there’s pool tables, a dart board, and outside they’ve got nice big wooden tables out on a deck that overlooks the creek. Perfect on a nice sunny day, great for dinner after a long hot day at the beach. Just don’t come inside in your wet togs, you will be told off!

This is a magical spot that can be overlooked by the massive attraction of the stunning black sand of Piha and her turbulent waters. However if you head along Beach Valley Road, watch out for the old timer Piha RSA. This historic RSA has been here since the early 1940’s, so as you can imagine you feel a real sense of the past still lingers.
A perfect spot to pop in for a pint or two, and sit out upon the wooden deck that gazes out over grass, marsh and native nz plants towards Lions Rock. This is just a very private and special place.
If you are visiting on the weekends, you will be shoulder to shoulder most afternoons as it fills up with patrons who arrive to eat at the onsite Morepork Kitchen.
Another secret reason I love coming to Piha RSA, is because of the delicious kiwi fare that Morepork provides. Changing the recipes with the seasons, and filling the gap I gain from being active at Piha.
I always feel very at home here, and the locals make me feel welcome.
