My colleagues were kind enough to take me out to lunch today at his lovely restaurant across the street from our office. I didn’t have grand expectations for dining in a city as small as Wellington. I soon found out I am wrong about the food scene in this lovely city in NZ. I had the classic chicken fettucini. Yum Yum. My follow diners had lamb salad, mushroom risotto(my 2nd choice) and the third had calamari. We added french fries as a side(go figure but I am a carb lover!) and some bread with peanut sauce. Service was very responsive. Young servers and so I wouldn’t put them in a fine dining situation because they weren’t of that caliber but for lunch dining they were great. I would highly recommend this place for lunch. I really liked their menu. A lot of good things to select. They characterize their menu as European with touches of Pacific and Aotearoa… whatever that all is… I would have said pretty standard fare to me except maybe the lamb which is a reflection of the region. Highly recommend.
