If you´re looking for a fancy art café, this definently isn´t the place to visit, — HOWEVER; if you enjoy a cold beer in a calm and charming enviroment I would highly suggest you visit Absynt! I was amazed the first time I went to this place, both by the selection of snacks and drinks. Their absinthe menu is one of the best I´ve seen so far! Still, this place has a certain charm to it. You might not see any green men clinging towards your glass, but with friends and few shots you´ll end up in Valhalla! Enjoy :)

This is ‘the’ place to drink absinthe in Krakow. They have a fairly extensive selection of the stuff and a lot of fun ways to drink it. Several of the ‘shots’ involve fire at the bar(which is fun) and there is always the classic water dripping over an absinthe knife. The bar area is wooden and feels warm and the other side is more café like with plenty of places to sit quietly with a guest or two. The staff is really attentive and helpful. They are happy to recommend something to try. Also — as with many of my reviews I will discuss the toilets. They are basically in an isolated section of the building. Two doors eventually get you to a strangely configured room with metal doors that slide open and closed to partition the two stalls. I’ll take a picture next time I’m there… I’ve never seen anything like it. At least other then from the person in the other stall you have extreme privacy due to the airlock of the other two doors. So — if you are keen on playing with the green fairy this is a cool place to do so! High marks! :)

Another green thing to add on the list of green things that I like: absinthe! It was in fact here at the Absynt Café where I tried it as a first and loved every sip. The bar/café has a warm interior both temperature and ambience-wise; it’s like coming to a dimmed living room with comfy vintage seats and an acceptable noise level They stock a fair selection of the particular spirit along with a decent snack food and drink menu. I bet I’ll be coming back for another absinthe experience soon ^_^

Maybe it was because it was monday in the middle of winter, but there was no one there to serve but the bartender, which gave it a creepy atmosphere with me and one other person there. At least when I went, not english friendly.
