Forty Kleparz is a great club – provided that you can actually get in. Located within an old military fort, Forty Kleparz is one of the largest venues in Kraków. For this reason, it’s frequently booked for corporate events. More than once I’ve come only to be turned away at the door. Given the considerable distance from the Center, that’s aggravating.
Even when it is open to the public, you still feel like running through the gauntlet walking in, as there’re usually five or six bouncers hovering near the entrance. C’mon guys, I’m not trying to rescue Morphius! I just want a beer!
Once you’re in, then it’s great. You even start to appreciate the bouncers whom you just dislike a moment ago. They’re, after all, keeping them troublemakers out. The sense of security allows you to let your guards down and enjoy the night. Pretty much everytime I came to Forty Kleparz I ended up returning home completely plastered.
