It is really good place for fresh sushi located also in my opinion in good spot– is quiet and simple decorated but has all I needed to feel great in Sushi Bar. You can have set Menu from the Bar– must seat by the Bar for fixed price or you can choose your sets or separately what you really like from Menu. Service is very professional and worth to remember. It is high priced — kind of– but all real Japanese got its price for reason… And I like it :) please do try at least once.

Been to Sakana number of times and had chance to try out many dishes. Of course they have sushi however they also have: — welcoming and nice staff and sushi chefs. — excellent fish and miso soup. — teriyaki chicken & salmon salat as great main course choices You can ask a chef to surprise you and you tell him what you like and he will prepare something according to your liking.

I gave this place a try while I was staying next door at the Best Western. It was 8:45pm, 2 guys at the sushi bar, 1 table occupied. Slow for a Saturday night. I love the decorations, the staff was friendly. However. … The 2 guys making the sushi were constantly eating bits & pieces of everything. What really caught my attention was the lack of washing their hands before they made or touched any fish, rice or vegetables. I find that inexcusable! They wiped their faces/mouth, ate with their hands, scratched their heads… then made the sushi. I couldn’t take it anymore, paid & left. This isn’t about being an overly clean or obsessive American, it’s about basic hygiene & sanitary food prep. I’m sure some think eating fish in a «foreign«country is risky… it is when standards in cleanliness is absent. I’ll see how I feel in a day!

Sakana is the best Sushi spot in Krakow. I try to go there as often as it’s possible. You should probably sit at the bar, this way you can talk to the sushi master and ask him to prepare a custom roll for you. It might seem a little bit expensive though because as soon as you start eating you will ask for more and that will make you spend at least 60 – 70 zl per person ;) But it’s definitely worth it!

This place is downright incredible. I’ve eaten sushi countless times in 7 different countries now, and this absolutely ranks as one of the best experiences I’ve had. First, the ambiance is great. Cool wall scrolls, dark striking colors, and paper lanterns abound to give it an intimate, modern appearance. Then, the food. The proprietor Anton is an expert at what he does. Sit at the bar, tell him(or any of the other talented chefs) what you like, and enjoy his art firsthand. Fish, seared beef, vegetables — all incredibly fresh, and there wasn’t a flavor combination he presented us with that didn’t surprise me with it’s originality and flavor. Prices are incredibly fair(even more so if you’re used to US or English sushi prices) and the service was great. We looked at some other sushi restaurants in the area(and even had some recommendations from friends who are regulars at other spots), and we definitely made the right choice heading here. We were there for dinner, but they have some cool lunch/happy hour specials that would make me a regular visitor if I lived a few thousand miles closer.
