Tutti Frutti Hostel

Very affordable accomodations at the main shopping street Florianska, smack in the middle of old town. Serves both as a hostel, where you share rooms with several others, and as an apartment hotel.
We had booked a fairly large apartment but when we checked in it didn’t meet the requirements at all, it was only a room less than half the size without a kitchen. Upon complaining we did get the apartment we’d paid for (but not without discussions).
Situated about 4 stairs up without a lift I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who has trouble with their knees etc. The apartment (retro apartment II) was decorated with old, dark furnitures, four beds (one in a separate chambre, neither very comfortable), a kitchenette, bathroom with tub and shower plus a washing machine that had been amateurishly repaired. During hot summer days the apartment got really, really hot.
The bathroom would have been served with really good freshening up. The toilet seat was of a really strange and uncomfortable design. Plus the less than fun company of silverfishes was a fact.
Also we paid a deposit of 20 zloty (it was suppose to have been 10, but they didn’t have change), the girl in the reception wrote that down but when we were to get the deposit back they didn’t find the note so we only got 10 zloty. A minor sum, but still, given all the other details…
Still the stay had its charm of course and the location was very convenient. Also, the fresh flowery, peach scent from unknown source you could always smell on the stairway up to the reception area was lovely.
