The last in the counter don’t have the best authorize but the peirogi and the beetsoup with dumpling they have is one of the best.

Pierogi were good, but would have been better with sour cream and roasted or fried. The lack of a real menu in this place makes ordering kind of confusing as well. That said, the food was indeed delicious. I ordered the vegetarian selection and enjoyed it greatly, though I had the unfortunate experience of discovering that one of my dumplings was filled with meat. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that this is a rare occurrence.

AMAZING pierogi! We tried several other places throughout our trip and no where else compared! The dumplings are a little smaller here, but you get a lot in each serving. The prices were cheap and the service minimal(it’s a counter-type place). But the proprietor was kind and gracious, even though she spoke almost no English. To be fair, words aren’t needed to express how good this place is. Go off the usual track and sample the tomato, basil, and cheese pierogi. You won’t be disappointed!

This place was amazing. Inexpensive and the food is delicious. Why you would eat anywhere else I don’t know. Try everything if you can. I had come here during my travels January 2015 and was by far my favorite place to be. It was cold and freezing outside. Come in and it nice a toasty. The door is a little of a problem. Hopefully they fixed it. Food was amazing. The house drink awesome. I wish I had names but it’s been so long. Dumplings with any kind of feeling. They’re all good. I just had the urge to write about it in hopes others will go there and have an enjoyable experience like I had.

If you want pierogis come here! Don’t think about it, just go! You won’t be disappointed. This place is tiny and very popular so you may have to wait. The décor is basic and they offer a few items of pierogis and soup. I ordered the meat and cabbage dumplings. They were plump, soft, juicy, and just hit the spot. We also ordered the sweet mix. Dessert pierogis filled with plum, strawberry, apple, and sweet cream. The plum was the most interesting! So full and so worth it!

Small shop, excellent pierogi! By far the best pierogi I had during my time in Krakow. I loved the apple pierogi with cream cheese sauce. I also had the cabbage and noodles, which was so simple but truly spectacular. They serve everything on paper plates and they have no restroom. They do have HEAT, chairs, and some simple delicious Polish food.

First of note, this place is 24 hours which is amazing! Anytime you have a need for pierogis/dumplings, they will be there for you. Next, location. Just a few blocks from the square it makes for an easy stop. They offer many varieties all at good prices! I had two mix plates with Russian style, cabbage, broccoli, spinach, meat, and blueberry and sweet cream. Lots to choose from at a great price!

Once again, this was a surprise discovery during a detour from our stroll along the green belt surrounding the old town. We were feeling just a little hungry and wanted only a light snack to tide us over until dinner, and to our delight stumbled across a street that features several pierogarnie(pierogi houses). After looking at the menus of several, our food sense drew us to this little gem. Perhaps mostly because it was the most unassuming, was busy with locals, and felt like walking into your Polish Grandma’s cottage. The various offerings are penned onto sheets of coloured paper attached to a clothesline along one wall, and you just walk up to the counter at the back to order once you’ve decided what you want. Then you sit down and they’ll call out the name of the dish you ordered when it’s ready. Now is as good a time as any to note that the folks running the restaurant speak only limited English; we were very happy that one of us is pretty much fluent in Polish. On our first visit we had a mixed plate(that they did special for us) of two different meat pierogi: 5 deer meat; and, 5 mixed meat. The pierogi come with perfectly and lightly sauteed onions. The dough was silky and perfectly cooked, and the meats were delicious. On our return visit we decided to have strawberry pierogi with sweetened sour cream. They were delicious, as was the glass of compote(stewed fruit drink sweetened with honey — a Polish classic) that we had as an accompaniment. This small gem is off the beaten path from the Market Square, but is well worth seeking out.

Quite a small place, but the hype is true. Easily the best pierogi’s in Krakow, and a very short walk from the main square.

A friend of mine told me, that this restaurant has probably the best dumplings in Town and I can definitely confirm it. There are about five types of dumplings of which you can choose or you take a mixed plate which I advise to you. But all of them taste very very good.

When it comes to pierogi I’m suddenly a patriot. And Zapiecek is one of the best duplings places I’ve been to not only in Krakow, but in Poland. As vegetatian, I’d recommend spinach and cheese, lentil or the traditonal«Russian». But I’m sure the rest is equally delicious.

After the first night we found out that Zapiecek is a chain, but honestly, they do the yummiest pierogis 24 hours a day. You can get meat filled or vegetarian dumplings, and they come on paper plates with plastic forks, but boy are they fantastic. Hangover food or midday snack — my advice, go for it!
