Found this place on Unilocal and it was near my hotel so decided to give it a try. The menu is limited and it seems it is made daily so only a few combinations to choose from all included the same soup. Soup of the day was gazpacho. I don’t normally like gazpacho but this one was very flavorful. The chicken satay with the potato wedges and salad were delicious. Tiramisu for dessert was just normal. I like the prix fixe menu thing and if I had more time in Warsaw I would visit again.

The quality of the food and the presentation were much higher than we would have expected at the price. Went here for lunch on a weekday and saw that a lot of locals seem to like this place. This restaurant illustrates why I love Unilocal

And we did. Love it, that is. Restro is a compact space, not far from the Palace of Culture, with two small dining areas. The back room seemed to have dimmer lighting, giving it a cozier ambience; we sat in the front, slightly too bright, but it was fine. The menu listed the dishes in Polish and English, and language wasn’t a problem with the service, either, which was excellent. Only three wines were available by the glass, two whites and a red. I was given a taste of one of the whites, a dry Italian, and it was surprisingly good, since I’m not a fan of dry wine, so I ordered it. Two tiny herb-covered rolls were presented with an herbed butter. I could have downed 50 of them, so it was a good thing there were only two. My husband wanted to order the cream of tomato soup. I was hesitant — the cream and all that — but gave him my blessing. What appeared was a bowl of thick puréed tomatoes, almost the consistency of Prego spaghetti sauce, with a slight kick, a dollop of mozzarella, lots of fragrant herbs, and an overabundance of deliciousness, without a drop of cream in sight. We both decided on the chicken dish — a chicken breast stuffed with a ricotta-like cheese and cherry tomatoes, served with a couple of wedges of perfectly baked potato, brown and crisp on the outside, and a fresh spinach and cherry tomato salad with a citrus vinaigrette dressing. This had to be the juiciest chicken I’ve ever had, and the entire dish was a 5-star winner(photo to follow later, rather than sooner!). All in all, a wonderful dining experience, and we can wholeheartedly recommend it.
