Every time I am in Lisbon I make it a point to stop here for lunch. The bifanas are heavenly! I could eat two one after the other. They are so good. The staff is so attentive as well. Don’t bother sitting down, just take a stop at the counter, order your bifana and enjoy! The«salgados» are very good as well. I usually have 1 bifana with mustard and two croquetes with a freshly squeezed orange juice. Delicious! I cannot wait to be back!

This place had some really bomb bifana(pork steak) sandwiches for 2.50 euros. People usually stand by the counter and eat their bifana sandwiches, but you can also have a sit down meal. The plates are definitely more pricy. My favorite dish was the soup with a variety of fish and rice in it. Kind of salty but had a lot of flavor. We also ordered a squid dish, Portuguese steak, and caldo verde. I would recommend trying this place. Beware that it does get very crowded, especially at night. The men who work there work very fast and efficiently, though, so you will most likely not wait to long. Overall pretty great experience with tasty, authentic Portuguese food and awesome service!

The best bifana sandwiches in the city! It was my first time trying bifana and I got the best one there is. The place was crowded with tourists and locals and it was difficult to get a table. The staff was really nice and all spoke good English. The food came incredibly fast. Really great value for your money!

Great recommendation from Rick Steves, and no surprise it was amazing. And amazingly affordable. Get the pork sandwich.

I came to this restaurant on my second day in Lisbon after the hostel I was staying at recommended it. Although it’s near the main square, there were mostly locals eating here. The staff was very friendly and the food came quickly, they also speak some English so ordering was not a problem. You absolutely must try the bifana here. The best pork sandwich I’ve had in my life costed 2.70 euros only! I’ll definitely be back when I come back to Lisbon.

Best Bifana. For true experience order and eat it at the bar and watch the servers in action. Caldo Verde is also good.
