Our dinner tonight was delicious. Codfish — Café Real style for my husband, and Entrecôte with pepper sauce for myself. Good, efficient and friendly service, reasonable prices. One of the best meals we’ve had in Portugal.

I’ve eaten here about 10 times over the past 5 years, while on business in Lisbon. It’s very convenient if you’re staying at the nearby Sheraton Hotel & the food has been consistently good, with reasonable prices. My favorite dish is their «steak-​on-​a-​stone» (€ 19) which is a healthy sized tenderloin initially served raw on a super hot stone slab. You get to cook your own steak exactly how you want it and it comes with a couple dipping sauces & french fries with creamed spinach (just don’t accidentally touch the hot stone!). Their wine selection is also good and well priced. For example, I got a ½ bottle (375cl) of Portuguese red wine to go with my meal for only € 7.50. Their wait staff’s service is also good and attentive.

Este restaurante fica numa cave, sim, mas, como o nome sugere, está muito bem arranjada. Apesar de não ser digna de reis, a decoração é esmerada, com paredes brancas para aproveitar a escassa luz e elementos de madeira que dão um ambiente acolhedor. A comida é mesmo muito boa. Normalmente, os frequentadores são homens de negócios que trabalham nas imediações e os preços são acima da média. O atendimento é muito atencioso, dando várias sugestões que foram sempre certeiras. Não é para ir sempre pelo preço, mas a qualidade pede algumas visitas.
