This is a very decent hotel. Nice rooms and fantastic breakfast buffet. I also love the bar next door at Maria Matos Theatre where the beautiful and charming Brigite is serving the best cocktails in town. Love Lisboa!

This was package holiday booked through Expedia — after my previous success with booking holidays online we got a great deal which included our flights and hotel. We arrived late in the evening and checked in swiftly. We were told the times for breakfast which continued until half 10 most mornings — perfect for a little lie in! Unfortunately the room service and bar snacks had stopped by the time we arrived however the concierge suggested a bar next door which served toasties until the early hours. For around 2 euros we got a huge ham and cheese toastie each– ideal as a mid-night snack! After checking our room which was clean and spacious enough for the three of us we all un-packed and found we had an added bonus of a large balcony too! Slightly out of town the metro into the city was around a 20 minute journey — with plenty of links to the city and countryside you wouldn’t be stuck staying here! The only downside is the area itself — very dodgy! We we’re shouted at by drunk men and followed by scary locals in an bizarre fashion! Because of this we were very conscious to make the 2 minute walk from the metro as quickly as possible. The service in the hotel was about average — our safe was broken on arrival but was quickly fixed in the morning by the manager. At the same time our fridge had been locked as reception had not logged that we had left a credit card however again this was quickly fixed. The room came with all the standard amenities such as toiletries and a hairdryer. We all had a single bed which was perfect and the addition of large mirrors meant we could all get ready swiftly in the morning! The breakfast buffet was complimentary and plentiful. Having expected that it would be a continental style breakfast we we’re surprised that it included a hot selection of scrambled eggs(slightly watery), hot dog styled sausages(need I say anything), fatty bacon and baked beans… The cold selection included croissants, fresh fruit, breads, muffins, cold meats and cheeses alongside a coffee machine and fruit juicer. Given the breakfast came with the room you can’t complain about the hot buffet having sat too long especially when the continental side of things was so great! The rooms and beds were more than comfortable and we all slept incredibly well — the only down side was the bugs we all felt sting in the night! All three of us were covered by the time we left and unfortunately I got badly bitten on the back of my ankle on the last night and my foot was pretty swollen and very sore by the morning… luckily the hotel provided me with a plaster however they had no anti-septic wipes! If it hadn’t been for this our stay would have been spot on — its just unfortunate that there seemed to be some nasty bugs lurking in our room!
