É uma referência gastronómica no Porto. Justamente. Degustem!

What an incredible meal we had at A Cozinha do Manel last Saturday(June 28th). After eating poorly in two different cities in Portugal we decided to work hard at finding a good restaurant – it was well worth the effort. The ambience was wonderful as we were ushered through a hallway past the kitchen into the common dining room. And then the food! We began the meal with alheira, a traditional smoked sausage, that served to introduce the presence of the wood ovens. Then the mains: the porco preto al forno was incredible, tender pork cooked in a wood-fired oven with chestnuts, cabbage and potatoes and the vitela assada no forgo was delicious as well. We enjoyed it all complemented with a wonderful young white wine. Although reviewers often note the extensive wine line for which the restaurant is known, we simply asked for the house vinho verde, which came well chilled and without label. It was the richest, most interesting vinho verde we’d ever tasted! Make the effort to get to the Bonfim neighbourhood and enjoy a meal at A Cozinha do Manel. It was one of our favourite dining experiences in Portugal.
