Went last night and had the sliders. Probably one of the best sliders I had in a long time and are my new favorite sliders. Also, I drank tje parcha sangría and it was also very good. Our server was really nice and helpful. Nice place and also has free valet parking.

It has to be the best restaurant I’ve tried in PR. The service was great, the mojitos are awesome and the food to die for.

Desde los aperitivos hasta el plato principal delicioso. El bacalo esta exquisito. El lugar tiene poca visibilidad. Luego que doblas la esquina tienes que estar bien pendiente, es gris.

Rolled in at 11:30 on a Sunday morning and had the place totally to ourselves. No English menu but not too hard to figure out what’s going on. I ordered the tuna tartare and ceviche and literally thought I’d died and gone to heaven. The tuna tartare is flavored with sesame oil and some kind of chili sauce, and is served in a square with a layer of avocado(hey…). Delightful presentation and even better taste. The ceviche… oh my god. Not as pretty as the tartare but amazingly tangy and surprisingly sweet. Perfectly paired with fried plantain chips. S/o got some kind of pork loin with some excellent mashed potatoes, but honestly I can’t remember too much about it because I was too taken by my dishes. Great service though granted we were the only people in the restaurant for most of our meal. And our total was under $ 40 before tip! Never change, Avocado. The place is a little hard to find, in a low square grey building with a small sign(we drove past it twice) but so worth it. Valet parking is free, you just have to tip.

I went with my wife and family to Avocado for the first time. We were part of an ultra big group(maybe more than 25 people) and the people treat us very good. The service was great. For starter we ordered some Ceviche, Croquetas and Spring Rolls of Pasteles. Everything was good. I’m not a lover of Croquetas, and they were OK. It’s not them, it’s me. For the main dish I ordered a Fresh Fillet of Cod, with Garbanzos and Chorizo. The taste behind the plate was perfect, the cooking skill, not that good. I love to cook, so I know that a fish is easy to overcook, but wow my Cod fillet was super overcooked and dry. It was a shame with that good Garbanzos with Rice, it would have been another experience. My father in law ordered the same and he told me the same. We ordered some Guanabana Sangria, and it was amazing, you need to try it. Mojitos? Tell the bartender to do it with DonQ Gold, it taste better this way… So, at the end, I will go back, I will not order a Fish again, but I definitely go back. The taste was spot on, and the flavors very good. Need to look another place to eat fish when I go back to visit my Island.

Great food! Lots of flavors and very fresh! The tuna tartar was awesome! The sliders were great as well, the meat was so tasty. The«chicharrones de mero» had the perfect crunch and i loved the seasoning(and the sauce!!!) and last but not least, the ceviche! It was more a sweet flavor than what Im use to but it was great and the plantain chips too!!! :) to drink I had the white sangria which was nice but strong so drink carefully hajaha if you’re going to drive later: P i definitely recommend this place.

While visiting my family, ended up there 3 times!!! Puerto Rican flavors fused with other latin american concepts. A year old venue, Heard owners came from a nearby restaurant now closed. This restaurant setting is very modern. They use local ingredients to make artisanal innovative dishes. Went for lunch and dinner over a 3 day span(Saturday through Monday). The food was consistently very very good! Enjoyed by all I went with. I especially liked their appetizers including gandules humus, mofongo de yuca con ropa vieja, pasteles egg rolls. Out of the main dishes I tried, by far the Octopus salad was my favorite! Tasted fresh and clean. It seems they don’t over-condiment, allowing the food’s true flavors to come through. Location seems hidden, yet very accessible. Vallet parking. Service was very nice, everyone was very nice, courteous and helpful. Competitive prices for area and type of food. The sauces were a bit tricky and confusing to me(pimiento, chimichurry, balsamic). I couldn’t identify too much the guava flavor in the guava aioli, or the tamarind rum sauce in one of the dishes I ordered. I also enjoyed the mofongos(plantain and yuca).

Wow, the best mofongo in town. It’s not salty but instead is perfectly balanced with flavors and moistness. The salmon is nicely pan seared, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The mash is a wonderful accompaniment to the salmon.

Went here with my wife and kids. We thought the menu looked very interesting and focused mainly on the appetizers. Everything we tried was fantastic(ceviche, tartare, croquettes). We thought their avocado cocktail and avocado ice cream with battered deep fried brioche was a great closer. I would come back in a heartbeat and prob just do apps again!

The tuna tartare was good but the octopus salad was AMAZING! I dream about it now :) I’ve had better rice and beans but they were good. Service was great, prices were a little on the high side for lunch.

The food is as good as anyone can expect. Actually, there is a good attempt at giving the place a theme with the inclusion of several dishes that revolve around, with or out of avocado. But if you are looking for a quiet cozy place, this is not exactly it. The place is geared towards the more informal, no-white-linen-table type of crowd. As you could expect from that type of restaurant, the noise can get to be pretty loud. It seems there is hardly anything in the place that is capable to absorb noise. There are no curtains, no carpeting, no nothing. The furniture does not help absorb noise either as the chairs are made of thin metal. Orherwise, if you don’t mind noise and want a somewhat informal atmosphere for lunch or dinner, and certainly if you are a fan of avocadoes, this is a good neighborhood restaurant in the San Patricio Village area that you can try.

Went for lunch with a friend yesterday and And I have to say that it was a pleasant experience! In PR parking is GOLD so I loves that they are not only in a great location but also have Valet Parking! The outside of the restaurant is very pretty and modern. Once we went in we realized that the place was PACKED and we had to wait a bit to be seated. The décor is very minimal modern with touches of earthy elements like wood chairs and tables. The bar area is pretty and they have an outside Patio that my friend says gets crowded at nights by people that go for drinks. The menu has many criollo/local dishes with a twist. A good selection of meat and fish dishes. We started off with a res and parcha Sangria. They have an extensive cocktail selection and their Sangria is AMAZING. One of the best and may I say it takes only ONE to get«wiiiiiiiiiiiii». I ordered the chicken breast filled with amarillo and arroz mamposteado which is a local white rice and red beans dish. Both were excellent however the Chicken comes with a Sauce that was a little too sweet for my taste. I would advice to get the sauce on the side because if you don’t like it, it may ruin a great dish. My friend ordered the salmon and tostones and they were excellent as well. Service was great and our waitress was very attentive. I would definitely go back and if you are in the metro area this place is a great choice!

A new place and a new space for a VERY talented Chef! Chef Rene Marichal has outdone himself. The space is fantastic(I can’t wait for the 1st Chef’s Table) and the food is local kicked up about 5 notches. The tasting menu is a great way to get to know the place and definitely take your wine cues from Xavier Toro. He really knows his stuff. It was an all around great experience!
