Went to this restaurant two nights in a row. The lobster in garlic sauce was superb. On the second night, we had the churrasco with garlic butter as well as the prime rib with mushrooms. The prime rib came slightly overdone. When we mentioned this to the server, she took it back and replaced it with one that was cooked perfectly. Overall, it was an excellent experience.

This is a don’t miss while in Palmas. Been coming here for 20 plus years and have never been disappointed. No question the preeminent dining establishment in the complex. The food rivals that of the finest bistros in Paris. Valerie the hostess and lead waitress is French and is all business. She is a stickler for details and assures you’ll want for nothing. For those ignorant moronic Unilocalers that allege the place is «snotty» they simply don’t understand French culture and I offer the following advice: Either dine in one of the nasty restaurants in Palmanova plaza or stay in Bayonne and enjoy several rippers and a side car @ Rutt’s Hut.

A little overpriced but the food is always great. Try the asparagus and manchego salad and finish off the evening with the apple tart. Fabulous!

Food was very good. Waiters were very helpful and attentive. However, we would not return. We ordered two mahi mahi dishes and instead they prepared two trout dishes and asked if we would accept them. We said we wanted our mahi dishes(they were the specials of the night). So we waited extra long and ordered a second bottle of overpriced wine. The good finally came and was delicious but there was no apology, no complimentary after dinner drink, dessert or any acknowledgement of their error. Additionally, the third person in our party who did not order the mahi asked to be served her meal as it was already prepared with our mistaken trout, and she wasn’t served. So her dish, while still very good, was dry from sitting waiting for ours to be prepared.

I dined at Chez Daniel with my mother a few nights ago. The location is perfect, especially if you book early to catch the sunset over the harbor. I am a huge lover of french cuisine so I was truly looking forward to an inspired evening of Franco fare! In a general sense the Chez Daniel delivered. My soup course(Soupe Poisson with traditional accompaniments) was somewhat heavily flavored and not nearly as delicate as it should be but it was edible. My second course off the daily specials board was Veal Brains fried in butter. The quality of their product was, in my opinion, sub par and clearly not fresh and the preparation should have created a buttery, creamy and slightly crispy on the edges appetizer. What I ended up with was overcooked, over worked and gelatinous. I as unable to finish it. For my main course I ordered one of my favorite classics boeuf bourguignon. The flavors were there though there were no potatoes on my plate nor was there nearly enough carrot or onion. Oddly it was served with a rice pilaf which is not traditional and just annoyed me and unfortunately it was clear the dish had been prepared way too quickly as the beef wasn’t as tender as it should have been. I ordered a glass of Pinot Noir to be served with my dinner course which arrived late and was terrible. Generally a house wine isn’t going to be of the highest order but this was two buck chuck and I sent it back. My mother dined on French Onion soup which was delicious and perfectly prepared, Grilled Asparagus with cheese(i forget which type think Vacherin) also quite palatable and the grilled Mahi served with garlic mashed potatoes. Her meal was well done and a nice value for the price. Mine was unmemorable and over priced. Were I staying at Palmas for an extended period I would probably give them another chance if only to try the deserts. Oh I forgot to mention our server was, in the classic French tradition, rude, surly and completely inattentive. He even tried to sell me a house before we had been served our wine.

A hidden jewel!!! A trip to France without leaving the island. An amazing experience. We found this place by mistake and my God thanks!!! One of the best meals that I have ever had. Personalize, unique. No words… Chef prepares every single dish for you and he is proud of it. From the outside you will never believe the quality of the food and what are you about to have. One of those places that you need to visit once in your lifetime.

Ok, maybe it is a bit expensive, but pay for what you get. The food here is delicious and perfectly cooked. They offer a good wine menu too. I personally like the spinach balsamic feta salad. Desserts are super tasty too. The place is never overcrowded and they are very attentive without being annoying. Good for couples :)

Chez Daniel’s food is delicious & expensive. The location and ambience wonderful. The service can be snooty. But… Beware: if you order a decaf cappuccino you may be wide awake all night!!! Ours were not decaf which resulted in our having to cancel our rappelling /ziplining excursion the next day… Just don’t order coffee and you should have a fantastic dining experience.

Okay, so how I describe one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten? To begin, this restaurant’s location is absolutely beautiful. It’s nestled at the tip of a small peninsula in Humacao, Puerto Rico. As you approach, the ambience of the boats, the ocean and the soft warm breeze delight your senses and gently guide you to Chez Daniel French Restaurant. I’ve only eaten here once and we were the only guests in the entire restaurant. There was one server and he was dedicated to us! It was awesome. We had wine, we talked, we enjoyed the view, we enjoyed the candle-lit ambience and most importantly, we ate. And we ate some of the finest food my teeth have ever chewed! This was a night like no other. I ordered the filet mignon, which was superb! It came with some mashed potatoes and asparagus that was steemed to perfection. Not very French, but very tasty. Including the ambience, this is the best meal I’ve ever had anywhere. Most of the people that eat here are visiting Palmas Del Mar Resort, however, it is not a requirement to get to heaven, I mean Chez Daniel French Restaurant.
