This is the spot. Yes as advertised Come for the pizza, but they do so much more. Their meat sampler, empanadas, octopus, the BOMB. Lots of love here, no commercial fluff here. Some traditional treats, service was A+!

There was a line halfway around the block at 6pm during the Christmas break. Yikes. And then someone had the brilliant idea to call in and order takeout. And they could do that! Pizza was ready to go in 20m — we browsed through the stores on Calle Fortaleza and had pizza on the steps of the Plaza the next block over. It was perfect. Pizza was great. Ambience looked good when I went in to pickup — though there was a leak in the ceiling dripping on my head while I waited to pay at the bar.

Great atmosphere, delicious food… AND Awesome service by lisandra, one of the best bartenders I’ve ever seen… Try the Empanadillitas sampler, and the octopus… Out of this world.

As a Chicagoan visiting San Juan, I thought no pizza could be as good as Chicago’s. Wow was I wrong! Five stars, ahora! I came here with my fiancée and a group of our friends. Everything we had was stellar. The pulpo(octopus) and potatoes were delicious, the sangria was great too, but the pizza… oh the pizza! The crust was nice and doughy with just enough crisp. The sizes were good too, just enough for one or to share. We got the larger size and had plenty to take home. I’d definitely recommend checking it out!

This is really delicious pizza, though I want to say I would probably give this place 4 stars if it were on the US mainland. However, since we’re talking Puerto Rico I will cut it some slack. Awesome pizza, fantastic beer selection, great service. The wait can be ridiculous, so if possible I recommend calling in advance for take-out. Great topping combos. Nice ambience.

Amazing Pizza in Puerto Rico! who would have thought. We spent one night in Old San Juan and only had one dinner meal to experience there. For some reason we both felt like pizza and based on the Unilocal reviews and pictures we decided to try out Pirilo. What an EXCELLENT choice we made. Probably one of the best pizzas I have ever had. We had one large pizza which was half Hawaiian and half full of meat(forget the name of it) Both were VERYVERY good. The cheese was very tasty and the crust/bread was cooked just right. My favorite pizza is New York style and this was pretty close if not better. They also have a very good selection of Beer’s and the appetizers were tasty as well The character of the building was memorable and the service was very good. Pirilo may be the reason i have to return to San Juan in the future!

Stellar service. Awesome pizza and beer selection. I was very hesitant but a lot of the spots siesta at a certain point in the evening and we were sort of forced to compromise — Long story short this was no compromise at all– Much love

This review is going to be like this spot. To the point. Good. Efficient. –Food was delicious. Not knock you out crazy with complex flavors and amazing presentation– but realllyyyy good as in yummy, goes great with drinks, quality ingredients kind of food. –Very comfortable spot in the mix of the busy nightlife destinations in Old San Juan. –If you visit, you will want to go back because you will know you are not taking a gamble with unknown and likely OK food at many of the«touristy» places in the area. –The servers were very cool, easy to talk to and open to giving suggestions. A+

Great pizza, friendly staff, great atmosphere and good beer selection. I had the Empanadillitas Argentinas which were fantastic. For pizza we had the Pirilo, which was truly fantastic. Great mix of toppings to hit the salty yet sweet notes. Definitely will be coming back here when I’m back in San Juan! Only downside was that the t-shirts the staff wore were not for sale at the restaurant. Have to call and place an order!

Stumbled upon this restaurant while exploring Viejo San Juan(Old San Juan) with my husband and sister-in-law. If you’re looking for a decent place to eat that is NOT a tourist trap, this is it, guys — look no further. The first floor seemed lightly occupied with diners, but little did we know that Pirilo also had a cute second floor. The second floor is a much better option to dine in compared to the first floor several reasons: 1. The second floor is actually room temperature, whereas the first floor has AC on full-blast. It’s HELLA cold down there. 2. It’s more open on the second floor. 3. The lighting is WAY better on the second floor. Let’s get right onto the food: Calzone Queso($ 9.00) — It’s humongous and I mean, HUMONGOUS. I think the calzone was bigger than my husband’s face. The calzone is served with marinara sauce and the cheese is melted perfectly. Warning: LOTS of cheese included. If you’re lactose intolerant, don’t even think about it. Empanadillitas Argentinas($ 5.50) — Yummy in my tummy! Served with two small empanadas and a cup of great cilantro sauce. Pulpo a la Gallega($ 10.00) — Potatoes and octopus served Spanish-style. A little too salty but still quite delicious. Papitas Pirilo($ 3.50) — Personally, this was my favorite dish of the night because I just love fries… and Pirilo makes fries super thinly and slightly crunchy! Also served with their house cilantro sauce. The one thing we did not like about this place was the service. We had to wait for our check to come longer than we had to wait for our food, which is kind of a no-no. But who knows? Maybe this is just the way it’s done here. Otherwise, great place to dine at in Viejo San Juan.

This was probably my favorite dinner spot on our entire trip to San Juan. My BF and I actually ended up eating here twice and loved it both times. The restaurant also has a second floor which we didn’t get to see. The ceiling was decorated with lights but still had a romantic feel. It also seemed like a great place to go with a group of 5 – 6 friends. We sat at the bar the first time and had a great bartender who gave us good recommendations on what to order. For our appetizer, we ordered the shoestring fries and the fried ravioli. Both were SO good. The ravioli came with 2 pieces and I wish it came with more. It honestly was a tease but I guess that’s what appetizers usually are. The goat cheese on top was just delicious. The cilantro dipping sauce that came with the fries was also really good and we ended up using it for our pizza. We ordered a small pizza that was half la pampa and half pecada. Once again, the goat cheese was amazing and the pesto on the pizza was great. I couldn’t imagine not coming back for a second time before we left. The second night, we ordered half 7 queso and half mucho mushroom. That was also really enjoyable. I’m looking forward to coming back to San Juan for the amazing views and the pizza.

I really liked this place, a little expensive but it’s in Old San Juan. The pizza was real good and they had good beers on tap and a nice selection in bottles. Very relaxed, good service. I guess I didn’t have high expectations being in such a tourist area, but a good find.

Spectacular! I came to Viejo San Juan for a few days and ate dinner here twice!!! I never do that! The first time I had the pizza and salad… the salad is so fresh and delicious. The dressing does not over power the fixings… if you love greens, this is a salad for you. Then I had the pizza… I got the thin crust!!! It was amazing!!! The second time I got the salad AGAIN, yes it is that good and I also got the skirt steak… it was like butter so moist and tender!!! It was amazingly tasty. Also the staff is wonderful!!! So nice and accommodating! It’s just a great environment.

Ten stars for service. Loved the extremely attentive staff. Unfortunately, I’m not a very big fan of this pizza. If you’re into doughy pizza, you may really like this place. I think reading all the Unilocal reviews hyped this place up too much for me. I was expecting something on par with NYC pizza after all the reviews, but got something closer to mediocre, Italian restaurant in Los Angeles. But maybe you’ll like it.

Top notch. The arugula pizza that the LOVELY waitress recommended was 5 star. I’d compare it to any great NY pizza. It had a SUPERCRISPY crust(I asked for it well done) & the cheese was superb & the caramelized red onions & slight bit of curry were PERFECT. They also sprinkled a few sesame seeds on top hi how made for a great added texture. I’d come back in a heartbeat. Highly recommended

«When in the rum capital, drink rum,» they said. So I did. And I enjoyed it. The Mojito here was super yummy and everything I wanted out of a Mojito. Since we had lunch right before our visit here, I didn’t get to try any of their food options. They did look tasty and smelled quite yummy from a distance though.

After eating rice, pork and mofongo for days, we desperately needed to change it up to another spice palate. After walking around old San Juan we came across this pizza place. It was opened late at night and we were greeted by very friendly staff. We ordered the personal pizza and the garlic twists and it managed to be enough for 2 girls. The pizza was not particularly spectacular but still plenty good. It is definitely better than fast food pizza but not better than the most spectacular pizza you have tasted. However, I know that after a few days, if you go tired of the local cuisine, this is a great choice.

Tried the pizza and some tapas. Delicious. Also they have beer special any 2 for $ 5 . The place from Ocean Park looks really nice. And the food is interesting and good. I found couple of dishes pretty similar to my home country(Romania) like the different types of sausages and the way the pork is cooked. Thought the service was fast for Puerto Rico and they seem nice I’m dropping a star because they never bring the exact change, they always rounded up for them(for ex our check was $ 30.01 and they brought change $ 9) … Kind of upsetting … Like having the feeling we were fooled. We always tip and even in this case we left tips … But didn’t like this kind of customer treatment(and this didn’t happen only once)

We were getting tired of the typical PR food so we Unilocaled for something different. This place had good Unilocal so off we went. Hole in wall is how I describe this place with a certain stench as u walk in. Stuffy smell of beer, pizza and sumthin else combined. The longer u stay inside the less u notice the smell. I’m assuming people don’t come here for the beauty of the resto(nothing to brag about) but how great the pizza is. Our server mentioned we can order half and half piza. Glad we did… it was delish. The crust was perfect the flavors good. We ordered a side of amarillos. I don’t quite understand why PR restos are charging $ 3 per servings(6 thin slices) when they have an abundance of it there. But it was good none the less. If you’re tired of chuletas cancan and chimichurri sauce def give this place a try.
