My husband and I are staying at La Concha for our honeymoon so of course we only felt it was right to have a late lunch/dinner at Solera. The food was great and the waiter was friendly. I did get a sense that the waiters seemed a bit«all over the place». I order the skirt steak and was asked what I wanted on the side to however, I did not received what I asked for. I must say I was happy with my meal as well as my husband who ordered the wings. A bit pricey but your in San Juan so it’s a bit inevitable.

Went here and took pictures after I walked the beach taking a couple of shots. I love the whole scenery. Beautiful ppl, even a sushi bar too! The drinks, well my drink was good can speak for everyone lol. But the steak sliders was ordered and they were good, even better with this spicy sauce one of the bar tenders suggested. Had my mouth watering literally. I have to go there again… Before I leave…

The service was excellent! The food was very flavorful! We had the soft lime tuna tacos. They were amazing with the avocado hot sauce! We also had the Latin sliders they were also amazing with the homemade red hot sauce that was on the table! Gretchen was our server, she was fantastic, & all of her recommendations were great. My drink wasn’t strong enough and she went back to the bar & made sure it was strong enough. The atmosphere was great because we are sitting by the pool with colorful lights.

Loved this poolside grub. Everything was good. Food is a tad pricey but that was expected. I enjoyed it. Get the Mahi Mahi Chicharonnes !

Best sliders in town! Nice cozy bar and great garden tables by the pool area. If you are in the neighborhood…

Prices are steep but it is a resort poolside restaurant. Watch out because some of the drinks are just way too sweet. The burger is amazing and the fries are awesome — I highly recommend dousing them with the pepper sauce on the table — the flavor is awesome and doesn’t overwhelm with heat. The star of their menu, to me, is their creamy onion soup with bacon and truffle oil. It’s just available at dinner and it’s amazing.

Not a terrible place to grab lunch if staying at la concha. It’s near the pool, it’s convenient. Shrimp salad was really good. The chicken avocado wrap had some slightly undercooked chicken in it which made me concerned… didn’t get sick so we’re in the clear, but still… that thing should’ve stayed on the grill another 5 min.

This is a hotel bar. As such, our food was pretty decent and the service was fine but, as can be expected, it was overpriced. The menu was pretty extensive and varied too, which was more than I expected. If you’re close by or don’t want to deal with going out, this is an A-okay choice.

Way overpriced hotel pool bar. We had to flag down our waiter after he ignored us for about 30 minutes. All we ordered was a single round of drinks and were there for over an hour. Not worth the time or effort

Good food and great service. Had Rubio for our waitress. She was great, sweet and funny! I had the chicken avocado wrap with side salad. All great. My husband had a bacon cheeseburger and fries. Everything was prepared and presented perfectly. This was lunch by the pool. Would recommend!

Average hotel/pool bar food. Everything comes with fries(wish they had options here). The steak is quite good(the wrap is tasty but either way is good). I also have enjoyed the chickens Avacado wrap and the quesadilla. Drinks are great– but SUPER expensive. Wish they varied the menu each season. Literally the same menu as last spring!

Poolside guacamole and edamame? Yes please! Edamame was $ 7 for a mediumish size bowl with the perfect amount of sea salt sprinkled on top. My husband and I also shared the guacamole with root vegetables which I believe was right around $ 10. It was a perfect light lunch. Haven’t had a drink poolside yet from here but they look delicious! Maybe tomorrow I will splurge for a poolside piña colada?

Terrible service, extremely slow even though it was not busy. We waited for 30 min for cocktails, definitely not the place you want to go to relax and have some drinks. Our waiter Jose was very unprofessional even though we spend a lot of money… They definitely killed our vibe!!!

Another whatever hotel, way overpriced restaurant. This is supposed to be a Pool restaurant, something to grab snacks, a drink, maybe a light lunch… But if you do this, it’s going to be hard to have budget for anything else. I mean $ 50 for a cheeseburger and a beer by the pool… Nah! Also, they need more staff walking around the pool, it was very hard to get somebody to place an order. I have to say our waiter(Vladimir) was A+, excellent service from him, specially considering what he had to work with. This hotel really need to level up their restaurant standards.

Truly as good as it gets. People complain about prices but it is totally worth it for the quality and deliciousness of the food and the wonderful and attentive wait-staff. Hector, Ricardo and Jose are the highlights – my entire family absolutely loved them – attentive, full of advice about our stay, and always had a refill ready! The food is amazing too. The frozen mojito was my favorite. Latin sliders, the burger and Peco’s steak wrap were the most amazing things. It had us go back almost every day for lunch(we stayed 8 days — we totally splurged!)

We ate lunch at Solera twice while staying at La Concha, and also stopped by a few times for drinks. The food was better than a hotel restaurant’s needs to be, without being great. Of the two lunches I had, I thought the steak wrap was better than the chicken sandwich. The french fries were hot, salty, and good. Everything was overpriced. In terms of drinks, my favorite was the red sangria – even though the waiter tried really hard to get me to switch to one of their white varieties. I can only guess why he was so invested in my sangria color choice. Solera: A-OK, but probably a pass if you’re not a La Concha guest eating there for convenience.

I have eaten here many of times, especially when I have stayed at the hotel. I love the layout, as it is near one of the pools and spaced out with tables in the shade. They have improved the menu in the past years, as they now indicate what is gluten free; however, the choices are extremely lacking. Also, the food is extremely hit and miss and the prices are on the higher side, but you have to take into account that this is a hotel. The bar has some decent drinks, but expect to spend at least $ 10+ if the drink isn’t on special. Also, if you are in a hurry, I wouldn’t recommend eating here. The restaurant seems to operate on island time.

CHECKYOURBILL. My boyfriend and I had a lovely dinner here tonight — if I had rated on the food alone, it would have been 3.5−4 stars. The service was a bit slow as others have noted, but not horrible. What was completely unacceptable though was the $ 10 hike-up on our bill AFTER we received the check. When we received our bill, it was $ 82 — and we handed our card to the waiter to pay the bill. I noticed he walked towards us three times after we gave him our card and kept turning back to the register area, which was weird, but I thought he might have been forgetful and forgot to swipe the card and had to turn back(…three times). When he handed us the bill back with our card for us to sign/tip, it was swiped at $ 92. My boyfriend and I were confused as to where the $ 10 addition came from, and the $ 82 receipt was nowhere to be found when he handed back the receipt to be signed. We walked over and asked what the extra $ 10 charge was for — and he said he didn’t know. He didn’t seem too concerned until we asked him if he would like us to just subtract the $ 10 from his tip: that got his attention. He then showed us on the computer screen that our bill was in fact $ 82, and he had no idea how the computer automatically added the $ 10 -«See it’s right on the screen!» Right. The waiter then voided our bill and re-charged us at $ 82, but I’ll certainly be checking the credit card statement as both waiter and manager didn’t instill confidence in how they reacted. This is a huge hotel, and I doubt once the drinks start flowing guests generally don’t notice a few dollars added here and there. $ 10 isn’t a lot of money, but I wonder how many checks at this place end up with«computer errors» of the like — and if it’s actually instituted by management. I’d recommend the food, but I highly suggest looking over your bill both before AND after you pay.

I ate at Solera A LOT during my stay at La Concha. I ate several lunches sitting by the pool, and even ordered off the same menu for lunch on the beach(many of the same options also appear to be on the room service menu). I can honestly say that I was never disappointed by the food. I absolutely loved the Churrasco wrap. It was probably one of my favorite things I ate on my entire vacation, believe it or not. My friends and I also really loved sharing the root chips and guacamole. Honestly, the menu can be quite limited, especially during certain times of day. I always found there to be plenty of options, however, for my non-picky palate. The prices are a bit steep for the style of food, but it is a poolside grill at a very nice resort. I think the prices are fair for the setting and the convenience. I also really love the specialty cocktails they offer. I tried quite a few, including the Chambord Mojito and the Blue Sand, both totally delicious. If you’re hanging out at the hotel and feeling hungry, Solera is going to be your best(and cheapest) option. It’s the only dining spot, I believe, open throughout the entire day, and I love that you can enjoy the menu everywhere from the pool to the beach. It really makes your vacation that much more relaxing. Don’t even need to get up from your lounge chair to eat!
