HORRIBLE service. She did not come check on us even once the whole hour and a half or so we were there. We literally had to wave her down anytime we needed anything. We wanted to order another appetizer but she never came by so we could order! All our drinks were completely empty and not once did she come ask if we wanted another drink so we just asked for the check and went to drink somewhere else.

Came here two nights in a row to watch my beloved St. Louis Cardinals lose the World Series. This place is great and easy and it made me want to quit my job and open a bar in Vieques.

Stopped over for a night at the Lazy Hostel. Came out for a beer at Lazy Jack’s. This place was great! John & Mike were fun and friendly! They went out of their way to accommodate our large group! Service was great too! It was nice to have an ice cold Dos Equis. Beers are on ice. Need to come back with my name plate!

This screams tourist trap on a whole new level. Everyone speaks English and the atmosphere is only okay. The wild dogs love walking in here and making themselves at home. The pork sandwich is mediocre at best, wouldn’t get it again. Service and drinks are fine. Go to bananas! Way better service/drinks/food.

The only place on the island open late! The staff is friendly and Mike the bartender is full of jokes. The drinks are cheap which is a major plus and the food gets the job done for a late night meal after a long day of exploration. Great place to relax and make new friends while talking about must see places on the island.

We went at 11:30PM on a thursday and they gladly served us. Kitchen is open till midnight. The pizza was excellent. Thin crust, crispy, fresh ingredients. The pulled pork tacos were great but they were out of coleslaw. Overall friendly, but a tad slow, staff. I’d still recommend it!!!

Ugh food was not very good. The service was great though. For some reason they served red wine ice cold. Yuck. There mixed drinks were not very good either.

Great place to hang out and drink the night away. The food can run on the slow side, but once you get it it’s super yummy. There are lots of local transplants from the mainland and people from the attached hostel(Lazy Hostel) at the bar who are really friendly, which make this a really good place to park for the night. A minority of the staff could definitely be more friendly and welcoming, but the bearded bartenders and co. more than make up for it. If you can skip the tables and sit at the bar, do it. Best nights we spent on Vieques were in this place.

Totally awesome spot and hang with some good ol comfort and bar food. Bar is part of the Lazy Hostel right next door and all the staff are super courteous and friendly and ready to help. Definitely check this spot out if you are in sun beach.

This place was like a locals hangout spot anywhere from 7pm to close. It has pretty legit pizza and the staff was extra friendly while we were there. We had a large group every time and there was no problems. Only negative is if you are in a hurry. They definitely take their time making your food. But other than that, the pizza and fries were pretty awesome.

Lazy Jack’s fit the bill for us to grab some American food which was a nice change from all the fried Puerto Rican food we were eating. But let’s be real, we had pizza there which still isn’t all that healthy. However, I was delighted that the pizza was pretty good. The rest of the food seemed like typical bar/pub fare. They had something rotating behind the bar which looked like it had been there for days. Piña colada was nothing special. Compared to the other reviews here, our wait time wasn’t too bad. We got drinks in less than 5 minutes and we got our pizza in probably less than 20 minutes(but we were only a party of 2). The place was pretty much filled with Americans. We went there only because our other options were closed. I would consider it again if I was craving some pizza, but would say it’s otherwise it’s not really the place for me.

Two Stars because a «quick stop for lunch» turned into a 45 minute ordeal. I don’t know why I stopped here, it’s at the end of the strip, and the service was absolutely terrible. I was trying to pick up a quick to go order for a picnic n the beach, but ended up waiting 45 minutes for two sandwiches. Also ordered two drinks. My beer came after about 10 minutes, but my gf had to wait about 25 minutes for a blended drink. I had a terrible sinking feeling while watching the sun go down, and the last bit of sunlight we had to swim, wasted on this crappy stand. The food was not great. Two beers, Two sandwiches, 40 bucks. Terrible idea. Hit Duffy’s down the road for a MUCH better experience. MUCH better service there. Pizza looked good here, but I saw about 5 orders sit on the counter with flies all over them while the«Server» took her sweet ass time getting the orders out. This place needs help.

After going to the bio bay we had some drinking at «Lazy Jack’s» the bartenders were full of life and jokes for days. This place didn’t have the tiny cups we saw at all the other bars so when they gave you a shot they really gave you a shot. That’s what I’m taking about :) definitely a good spot to hangout during he day or night and get refreshing drinks. They also have food but didn’t have any. Next time I suppose :)

Lazy Jack’s is a great spot to meet people. We came and hung out here while in Vieques, and it was definitely one of the memorable parts of our trip. The bartender – an American guy with an enormous beard – was a cool and engaging fellow who chatted us up and facilitated conversation with our peers with alcohol and jokes. We ended up talking with a couple of people for the rest of the night. We would have spent more time with the people, but they all were leaving the next day, whereas we were staying longer. The drinks were fine. I’m not a huge mixed drinks fan, so I didn’t find the ones Mike made to be anything spectacular. I had a piña colada and didn’t finish it. I think I’m not big on coconut stuff. But I did enjoy the whiskey and beers he poured for me! I also had a pizza, which was really pretty good. It was a veggie pizza with pepperonis added. Every bite was nice and savory – nothing was undercooked or burnt. Again, the best thing about Lazy Jacks is that it’s easy to meet interesting people. I would definitely recommend hitting this place up while in Vieques.

We came here a few times during our stay in Vieques. It is right across the street from the water so the view is really amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed my fish sandwich however my boyfriend wasn’t as impressed with his fish and chips. However we ordered the Hawaiian pizza(twice) with extra jalepenos and it was really great! We grabbed a pizza to go to eat on the beach(and it was much better than the Sol Food we had the previous day).

Been in Vieques for a week now. Been driving past Lazy Jacks the entire time. So on my last night, I decided to see why everyone is always carrying out those pizza boxes… O.M.G!!! Fresh made pizza made to order… PIÑACOLADAS off the chain. This is the living room for Vieques… Want to strike up a convo and find the best beach or snorkel spot? Come here and strike up a conversation. This is one of the only places I’ve found where tourist and locals blend. Also free wifi and a good place to catch the game. Don’t sleep like I did… Open until 1230AM. Go there!

Lazy Jack’s also has a hostel attached to it by the same name and as a result you get a large mix of people who come and enjoy the environment this place has to offer. We were there on a Friday night and the place was standing room only. The drinks were flowing and the vibes were great. The bartenders were all American but spoke fluent Spanish and were as attentive as any bartenders that I have ever experienced. After I ordered my first drink they knew my name and never gave me the opportunity to have an empty class before they had another drink ready for me. As for the food, I ate there late night after about 20 rum cocktails throughout the day. There are one of the only places that serves food after 10. I ordered the chicken tenders and the mozzarella sticks. Both were fried well and had a good flavor to them. All in all a fun place to hang out and the food was solid bar food.

Lazy Jacks is one of the few bars on Vieques on the Esperanza side. The two bartenders were bearded and burly, as American as you come. So was the bar, for that matter. I mean, their wifi password is beerandwings. This is the spot you come because it’s close but not because you’re getting into any kind of a. nature or b. puerto rican culture. They’ve got your normal Medalla and Pina Coladas with Don Q rum. They also have a full bar and all the sports you can handle bro. It’s right near the beach, they feature some craft beer-ish(a belgian white, some Abita, etc) and everyone is really nice and ready to parrrrtyyyy. It’s part of a hostel so you’ve got that kind of cool mix of islanders and visitors. It’s a good spot to stop in if you’re looking for a cold beer and some english conversation.

So, this was a supposed to just be a stop along our little trip down the main street in Esperanza, but it quickly turned into our last stop of the night! We closed this place and the streets of this little city down! We came here off of recommendations by the concierge at the hotel and was told that if we go and it seems slow, give it time… the locals will eventually make it out and it will be a mixture of local and tourist that turns into an amazing time for all. They were not wrong! Another thing about this bar is if you feel a little uncomfortable being out of your element as a «main lander from the states», then Lazy Jacks is a good place for you as it has a very american-esk vibe from the music, to the staff down to the pizza — but still maintains it island feel. I wish I could share my entire evening at this bar with you all, but that would make a huge review and some things are probably not Unilocal-friendly ;)…but I will share a few things! First, the drink they have called the«pain killer» is great, but lives up to its name in the sense that it will knock you out after about 2 of them! Have one for the experience and then move along to calmer and less alcohol saturated beverages. Second, we got to party with the Mayor elect of Vieques… I think he was campaigning or celebrating his victory that was to come the following day(he said it was a sure thing, who were we to not cheers in congratulations?!). Third, this place literally sits on the curb of the street. so street dancing was clearly a must after several drinks… and to top it off, the locals hopped out of their cars to join in! And finally, everyone was truly in great spirits. It traveled through the bar and could be felt! This place exuded the«Island». It is one reason why I will be very happy to go back for a visit. A true must try if on the island.
