A small, typically Spanish ‘man’s bar’, which seems to be frequented by blokes happy to go for a drink and smoke with their friends, watching sports on TV or playing the fruit machines. (It does get smoky, too).
Unless that’s your thing — and you get the feeling that they don’t get a lot of tourists here — you may prefer to sit outside on the Rambla, where there are several tables and chairs.
The upside of it being untouristy is that prices are half what you pay in the port area. The downside is that service didn’t exactly come with a smile, but that may have been because the waitress was about to go off her shift, just as those pesky Britannicos arrived
