Aeroport d’Alacant

Ich finde, ein sehr moderner Flughafen. Und die schicksten, öffentlichen Toiletten, die ich je gesehen habe.

Llevo muchos años volando desde/​a Alicante y su remodelación lo ha dejado fabuloso. Me encanta. Es amplísimo e intuyes dónde está todo al instante. El parking está bien, es seguro y los comercios tras el control de seguridad no son excesivos pero están coquetos, quiero decir, tienes variedad de tiendecicas para pasar el rato hasta que te llegue la hora de despegar.
Me siento muy a gusto aqui, 4 pepinos

One of the biggest airports in Spain and you can tell at the first step you take inside the building. Great connection with the most touristic cities in the Valencian coast. The duty free is huge and there are all the things you would like to buy. The check in and the security control are fast.

Modern and middle class airport in the south east of Spain. Close to many touristically relevant places like Benidorm, Calpe, Valencia or Murcia. The place is new. Less than 5 years ago a new terminal and parking were built. Inside is ok for food or drinks. Only few options for shopping. Don’t risk parking the car for «10» minutes in the forbidden areas. You can get easily a fine for that.

Uno de los aeropuertos más lindos que vi! No por el edificio en si, sino por la vista. Directo al mar mediterraneo azul de la bella ciudad de Alicante.
Más allá de eso, este aeropuerto es IGUAL a todos los aeropuertos reformados de España, la misma arquitectura que no permite distinguir desde adentro donde estamos. Tiene muchas compañías aéreas que lo trabajan, algunas lowcost como Ryanair o Norwegian. No tiene casi ningún lugar para esperar antes de pasar las puertas de embarque.
Una vez pasada la INTERMINABLE espera en seguridad (tenían solamente 5 lineas activadas y había que esperar mínimo 15 minutos) llegamos a la zona de las salas de embarque. Hay varias opciones de comida, como Starbucks, Burger King y Rodilla (un clásico de tapeo español), los precios son los mismos que afuera del aeropuerto.
El lugar es enorme, por lo que siempre hay espacio para dormir una siesta si el avión se demora y la espera se hace larga. Los baños estaban bien limpios y el servicio al cliente si bien es un poco lento funciona bien, con cordialidad.

Hier findet man sich gut zurecht, auch als Tourist ohne Flugerfahrung. Die Abfertigung geht sehr flott. Viele Informationsbildschirme geben die benötigten Informationen für die Fluggäste. Während meines An– und Abfluges konnte ich nichts negatives feststellen. Alles bestens :-)

As airports go on return flights with cheap airlines, this one is actually pretty good. There are plenty of stores, some reasonably decent places to eat and plenty of seating. There’s even quite a few shops should you want to pick up some perfume, clothing or electronics. As we are near Benidorm there is a Carling pub. Why on earth you would want to go to a Carling pub serving only Carling lager is beyond me? Especially in Spain! But then again, why are all the English Breakfast places so busy over in this region?
Getting through security is fine (apart from the time I was told to sit in a room by a scary guy with a machine gun* who took my passport and my hand luggage and left me sitting alone for 5 minutes before telling me I could go).
Car hire is located just over the road on arrival but you may want to consider NOT going for the cheapest option when you book online if you want to avoid a 30 minute wait at the car rental counter.
You can get 15 minutes of free wifi in the departure lounge — quick tip, if you are using a web browser the time ticks on down every second but if you exit your browser you can use apps without it counting so surf the facebook app for a lot longer. Eventually though, it will cotton on and cut you off you internet addict you.
*I exaggerate, it was probably a rifle.

The Alicante airport isn’t huge, but it’s got some interesting architectural features and metalwork in the ceiling, and surprisingly it has a fair amount of US based restaurants like Burger King and Starbucks (though who wants to go to Spain and have the same food and coffee they could have back home?). This airport also has an authentic looking Carling Pub where one can get proper British foods and Carling beer while watching soccer and other sporting events.
This airport also has a good amount of shopping options, especially considering the size of this facility.
Signage is clear and abundant and as a result, I had no problems navigating this airport. We had a few hours to pass here, but due in part to the many food, drink and shopping options, the time went by quickly.

No hay mucho que contar, ha mejorado bastante con la reforma que hicieron el año pasado pero no deja de ser un aeropuerto con todas sus cosas.
El aparcamiento cuesta unos 20 euros al día y la comida en general es bastante más cara que fuera del mismo.
Lo que menos me gusta es que siempre me hacen quitarme los zapatos para pasar por el control, en aeropuertos mucho más grandes que éste como es el de gatwick no me los tengo que quitar, pero en el de Alicante sí.
Solo hay un par de cajeros y ninguno es 4b con lo que me cobran comisión por sacar dinero y la megafonía es bastante escasa.
Aún así, es el único que tenemos así que me guste o no, es lo que hay. Pero he de decir que me encantan los aeropuertos en general.

The airport is large open plan and very spacious and is easily accessible to many of the local resort towns in the area. The airport appears to be very well run with friendly, helpful and efficient staff and a reasonably quick check-​in. The departures lounge has everything the traveller needs. However, the reason for 3 Stars is the unbelievable prices they charge for food and drink. Even by airport standards it is absolutely shocking (a friend was quoted 40 Euros for a 12″ pizza!!!). A bottle of Coke, a sandwich and a chocolate bar. almost 15 Euro!!. I know Spain is in a bit of a mess financially at the moment, but surely they cant expect to reduce their national debt by over charging at the airports ;o)

Hier hat sich in den letzten Jahren so ziemlich alles verbessert .
Der Umbau hat dem Flughafen mehr als gut getan.

der umbau des flughafens alicante ist eine große bereicherung. reichliche anzeigetafeln, großzügige warteflächen, hell, alles übersichtlich. kein umher irren mehr. gepäckwägen sind reichlich und an mehreren stellen zu finden.
parken ist super und günstig in den parkhäusern. auch die beschilderung der zufahrtswege ist sehr gut.

As visitors we can only say that we love coming through this airport. Always so clean and no offensive odours, as we have experienced elsewhere. Staff have exceeded themselves in the Help department. Again, vendors trading inside the airport charge outrageous prices. This seems to an international scam, wherever you go!

Seit das neue Terminal eröffnet hat hat sich vieles verbessert. Die Wege sind zumindest zum Teil etwas länger geworden, dafür sind die notwendigen Wege aber sehr übersichtlich und logisch zu verfolgen.

Bajo mi opinión es un aeropuerto de tamaño medio, pero para su tamaño es un caos. Pocas señalizaciones sobre cada planta etc.

Ankunft in der Wartehalle und dann ca. 10min Fußweg bis zum Gepäckband ist für einen so kleinen Flughafen einfach unverständlich.

Tut alles was ein Flughafen so tun muss — aber auch nicht mehr!
Man fährt hin, checked ein und fliegt ab. Großartiges Unterhaltungsprogramm wird nicht geboten, aber man findet alle Notwendigkeiten wie Burger King, Irish Bar und duty free.
Aber bitte nicht mehr erwarten!

Der Flughafen in Alicante ist nichts besonderes, jedoch muss man bedenken, dass er kein großer Flughafen, trotzdem aber gut frequentiert ist.
Angeflogen wird Alicante eher von Fluggesellschaften wie Air Berlin oder der Spanischen Iberia, wenn man mal Deutschland als Abflugland nimmt.
Bisher hatten wir weder bei der Ankunft noch beim Abflug Probleme.
Die Abfertigung ging stets zügig und reibungslos vonstatten. Dass der Check In über Etix einmal nicht funktionierte lag am Ticketcomputer von Iberia.
Wer seine Wartezeit bis zum Abflug im Flughafen verbringen möchte, kann sich schnell langweilen, da das Angebot an Einrichtungen (Einkauf, Essen & Trinken, Zeitschriften, etc.) sehr überschaubar ist.
Auch um den Flughafen selbst findet sich wenig bis nichts, was die Möglichkeit zum Zeitvertreib bieten könnte.
Zudem ist auch die Anbindung mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln nur sehr dünn und größere Ortschaften ohnehin relativ weit entfernt.
Wer nach Benidorm möchte, der kann dies mit dem Bus erreichen, der stündlich vor dem Flughafen abfährt. So erreicht man den Busbahnhof in Benidorm bequem in rund 45 Minuten und kann von dort aus mit einer Bahn weiter nach Altea usw. .
Parkmöglichkeiten bietet ein offenes Parkhaus direkt gegenüber des Flughafens, wobei die Parkgebühren nicht gerade billig sind.
Der Flughafen an sich bietet darüberhinaus wenig weiteres erwähnenswertes und ist schlichtweg ein zweckdienliches Ziel.
Dieses ist jedoch immerhin sauber und geräumig, sodass man sich nicht mit Wagen ständig in die Quere kommt oder sich durch Wartende hindurchquetschen muss.
Laufwege sind gut ausgeschildert und verständlich, sodass sich jeder zurechtfinden dürfte.
Auch das Auffinden von Gates ist kein Problem und Abflüge und Ankünfte sind übersichtlich aufgeführt.

Alicante airport is pleasingly close to Alicante, and we checked-​in in no time — everything seems to be smooth and under control here. A well-​run operation. My only criticism is that prices on food and drink here, even compared to the usual hiked-​up prices at airports, are UNBELIEVABLE. Seriously. It’s almost as if they’re competing amongst themselves to come up with the most ridiculous prices and see whether people will ACTUALLY pay them. Which I will NOT thank you very much. Shame, as this is a cracking airport otherwise.

Der Flughafen von Alicante ist ein kleiner, aber relativ hoch frequentierter Provinzflughafen. Der Grund für den Betrieb ist die Nähe zu Benidorm: für Engländer eine Art El Arenal auf dem Festland, wohin man mit dem Auto etwa 45 Minuten unterwegs ist. Entsprechend viele Easy-​Jet-​Flüge nach Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Bristol, Gatwick und anderen Working-​Class-​Metropolen gehen von hier ab.
Die gefühlt andere Hälfte der Flüge geht mit Air Berlin nach Deutschland. Diese Flüge nehmen dann die zahlreichen deutschen Rentner, die an der Costa Blanca leben, bzw. ihre Besucher, sowie außerdem Holländer und Norweger, die von Düsseldorf aus dann weiterfliegen.
In einem so kleinen Flughafen kann man nicht viel Komfort erwarten. Verhungern tut aber auch bei einem verspäteten Flug niemand, die Auswahl an deutscher Presse könnte allerdings ein bisschen größer sein.
Wegen ein paar Mängeln muss ich dem Flughafen Punkte abziehen:
_​Die Wartezeiten an den Check-​In-​Schaltern sind zu lang. Selbst, wenn man 90 min vor Abflug vor Ort ist, muss man sich auf mindestens 15 min Warten gefasst machen. Das ist absolut gesehen nicht so viel, nervt aber, wenn man es in Düsseldorf oder Köln schneller gewöhnt ist. Für diese Wartezeit gibt es zwei Gründe: Zum einen natürlich die geringe Zahl geöffneter Schalter. Zum anderen aber die Flugäste: Ich habe den Eindruck, dass der Rentner an und für sich den Schalterbediensteten erst einmal alle noch verfügbaren Sitzplätze vortragen lässt, bevor er sich entscheidet. Ich brauche immer genau eine Minute zum Einchecken: Gepäck auf das Band stellen, Fenster– oder Gangplatz ansagen, fertig. Die Rentner diskutieren immer noch stundenlang — weiß der Geier über was.
_​Besonders nervig im Aeropuerto de Alicante sind aber die regelmäßigen Gate Changes der Abflüge. Grundsätzlich werden Gates hier ohnehin erst sehr kurzfristig vergeben: 30 min vor Boarding ist keineswegs sicher, dass man sein Gate schon kennt, was ein bisschen doof ist angesichts des beschränkten Entertainmentprogramms. In realistisch 50% aller Fälle wird das gerade vergebene Gate aber dann auch noch einmal geändert — was man in der Regel daran merkt, dass man alleine an einem Gate sitzt, das kurz zuvor noch dicht bevölkert war. Zum Glück sind wenigstens die Wege zu den anderen Gates sehr kurz.
_​Die Anbindung des Flughafens mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln ist mäßig. Man muss mit dem Bus zum Hauptbahnhof, von wo aus dann eine Bimmelbahn in Richtung Benidorm, Altea und Alfas geht. Das ist zwar kein typischer Mangel des Flughafens, da generell der ÖPNV in dieser Region nur mittelgut ist, aber es ist doch erwähnenswert.
_​Schließlich noch ist die Security hier betont unfreundlich.
Unterm Strich kann ich sagen: Okayer Flughafen mit Schwächen. Aber weggekommen bin ich hier noch immer.
