This place is a little gem tucked away on a side street in Granada. It’s difficult to offer directions so I won’t even try. It was on the route for my walk to my host family’s home from my Spanish classes & I would see it everyday. One day after class, I decided to stop in for a quick cerveza. Like the rest of Granada, a drink order warrants a free tapa. This only happens in Granada but the rest of Spain, not so much lol The reason this place is so awesome is due to the fact that they are a legitimate coffee shop. Unlike the rest of Granada, there’s café, café con leche and maybe an espresso but here you have various types of coffee along with beer, wine, tea and hot chocolate. The service here was attentive in comparison to other establishments in Granada. It’s not that they don’t want to serve you. They’re just not in a rush to get to your table. The way of life here is laid back and relaxed and you certainly get that feel at Sabaniego. I didn’t confirm if they had wi-fi when I stopped in as I was only there for a quick beer but I’ll be sure to stop in on my way to school next week to verify because it’ll be my new go-to spot if they have it. They close earlier in the day, around 2:30 or so making them a great spot from breakfast or lunch. Stop in as you won’t be disappointed.
