Montserrat and Castle Winery Tour provided by Castle Experience Tours-​so worth it!
Paid for the tour online and met the tour guides at the Plaza de Catalunya around 7:45am. Tour size was around 7 people and our guide, Xavi, was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Went by bus to Montserrat and it took about an hour and a half.
Xavi gave us a great tour of the outside and we had plenty of time to ask questions. We had about 15 minutes inside the church and were extremely awed and inspired. I didn’t take pictures inside because I find it disrespectful to take pictures inside churches so used my mental camera! :-)
Afterwards we had about 5 minutes to visit with the food vendors outside and I was able to buy some great goat cheese. After that, we got on the bus and went to the Oller Del Mas Castle for a wine tour that included some history of the castle (it has been in the same family for 10 generations). We then went inside and had a wine tasting class that included 4 wines made at the winery with montaditos. The wine was superb and I was able to buy a bottle using a credit card.
