Café Bel Mondo

In need of something sweet I stumbled upon this place. The selection of cakes and icecream is really nice and they also have a bar so it kinda has everything you want sugar and alcohol! So I indulged and got a baileys coffee and a pistachio cake thing.
The Baileys coffee was good, presentation was great an was nice an strong.
The pistachio cake thing was just food colouring with sugar and flour. It was pretty but just a cheap thrill.
The thing that let this place down was its décor, it’s just seating, lots of it! So there’s seats upstairs, downstairs but no personality. Even the staff looked like they felt uncomfortable there. It’s not the kind of place I would hang out for long so because of that I’d probably not return.
I like to spend my time in places with a bit of charm which this does not have.
If you wana experience something weird and random just visit there multi mirrored bathroom, there are mirrors everywhere except the floor, so you have a roof of mirrors, this with the blue lighting makes you feel like you’ve just entered a tacky night club stall! This with there lame attempt of reminding you your in a café, having a framed «café» picture crammed into the only wall space without mirrors over the sink. Yikes!

This is a large quiet café with plenty of seating inside and some outdoor seating onto the main road.
The menu is good, the food and drink and decent, but the service wasn’t very friendly from the waitress I was served by on a Wednesday morning.
The café also has no Wi-​Fi of its own, so this isn’t a place to sit down and catch up on your work. Thankfully the free Wi-​Fi from Expresso House Café opposite reaches here and is mostly reliable.

Ein netter Platz um in der Morgensonne die Touristen zu beobachten, wie sie die Drottninggatan auf– und abgehen sofern Du es Dir leisten kannst (fuer den Preis eines Café Latte bekommt man andernorts ein ganzes Lunchmenu). Die Bedienung ist professionell, auch wenn ich der Meinung bin, ein gelegentliches Lächeln wuerde nicht schaden.
Weniger schön ist das Schild an der Kasse, mit dem man Willkommen geheissen wird. Es teilt Studenten und Schuelern mit, dass Lehr– und Schulbuecher im Lokal nicht willkommen sind. Ich bin schon lange kein Student mehr, aber diese Ueberheblichkeit stösst mich ab. Ich kann das Bel Mondo daher nur bedingt empfehlen. Die ordentlich gekleideten Menschen mit ihren Laptops und Mobiltelefonen sind uebrigens offensichtlich sehr willkommen.

The self-​service café is located in the city centre, at the upper end of a quiet pedestrian shopping street, so it is ideal for a break after shopping or sightseeing. It is comfortably furnished, with large windows and outdoor seating in the summer. Also, there are additional tables on the upper floor which is more quiet and you can watch things from above.
They have delicious cake, coffee and tea, but also ice cream, sandwiches, salads and smoothies. I can especially recommend the warm blueberry cake and the apple cake, both with vanilla sauce.
I also appreciate the long opening times, so you can sit there and relax even in the evening. The service is friendly and professional. However, prices are acceptable but not cheap: a simple cappuccino costs 4.50 EUR, a piece of cake as well, but it definitely tastes really good.
