Cargobar is a great relax bar in Basel… right on the river with a beautiful view.
Its nice to sit outside while having a cold beer from their menu, talk with your friends and enjoy some good air and the very nice view.
As its get colder you can always go inside… its cozy and people are friendly.
Prices are good and its very affordable.

In need of a late night drink with a diverse crowd? This bar features a diverse drink selection ranging from beer to apertifs to classic cocktails. If the inside atmosphere is a bit stuffy, you can go outside and sit on the banks of the Rhein (note: no glasses outside after midnight).
I find the classic cocktails reasonably priced at 13.5 average. Be sure to enjoy their Cargo beer with its herbal and bitter notes.

Die Cargo Bar ist halt schon so kleine interessante übergefüllte chaotische Bar, die Preise sind ok, die Lage rettet hier einiges denn die Cargo Bar befindet sich direkt am Rhein, hier trifft mann alle Ewigen Studenten. die vergessen haben irgend wann mahl zwischen 30 – 40 Jahren das Studium abzuschliessen!;-)

Am Wochenende ist der Andrang an der Bar unglaublich und das Anstehen und warten auf einen Drink kann ziemlich dauern. Aber die Kundschaft ist angenehm und interessant, die Bobbeles und Quollfrisch lecker und das Sitzen am Ufer schön.

Good find this one. Nestled on the banks of the Reine, in a location that’s mindful of the pubs in Hammersmith on the Thames, or further upstream in Düsseldorf aldstaft. The riverside is dark and quiet, but inside it’s packed, smokey and generally kicking off. They have a DJ booth right on the floor of the pub, and serve their own brew, albeit at fairly extorionate prices. Three pints will set you back 25CHF, but hell, this is Switzerland!

Abhängen tue ich hier immer am Tag vor dem 1. August, da ich von hier aus gut auf den Rhein und das stattfindende Feuerwerk schauen kann. Lässige Bar.

Eté comme hiver, il fait toujours le plein.
Son truc, c’est son emplacement, sous le pont Johanniter, sur la rive gauche du Rhin.
Dans cet esprit underground-​mais-​quand-​même-​rassurant-​car-​on-​est-​en-​Suisse-​ou-​bien, les boissons commandées au guichet peuvent ainsi se consommer dehors, directement les pieds dans l’eau, sous la voute magistrale du pont, offrant un cadre inédit aux discussions les plus relax entre amis.
Il n’y a qu’à passer un soir d’été pour s’apercevoir que le truc fonctionne tout seul, même si de temps en temps l’air que l’on y respire rappelle que la Suisse partage certaines tolérances avec les Pays Bas

The Cargobar will be first place start, mixing up with artists, HIV+s, serial killers or just other drunk tourists and locals. The toilets are all mirrors (walls, floor and ceiling), the atmosphere is lively and the prices are fair considering you are in Switzerland…
