Great evening at this place!
The service was so so, but the food was good (grilled fish with vegetables) and the live music enjoyable, entertaining and worth coming back for! Barbara and Enrico put on a fab show!!!

Picturesque bar that totally simulates a dark, old fashioned NYC bar smack dab in the middle of Montreux, Switzerland! Can you say Twilight Zone? Dark wood, dim mood lighting and leather chair and booth décor, upbeat mixed crowd, full of hipsters, after work professionals, couples on dates and our crazy party of 8 international pranksters! Can you smell fun? Live bands belting out blues, jazz, light rock. awesome atmosphere, energy and fun!

Nice bar with cool ambiance. Right next door to the Fairmont (and part of the hotel). Many famous people hang out here (we saw a Canadian celeb there on our visit). Drinks carry a hefty price tag but that is true of most hotel bars especially in Switzerland.

Famous Harry’s Bar is an institution in Montreux at the Fairmont Montreux Palace. Sophisticated international atmosphere. organic orgasmic burger the best in the country (pasture raised swiss beef … no GMO anything). Hang out for local celebrities, businessmen. Julian Lennon, members of bands from the Stones to Queen to Deep Purple wrote «Smoke on the water» about when Frank Zappa burned down the casino at the Montreux Jazz Festival (which is not the same since funky Claude sold out to Quincy). JP Fauquex and the boys each night at the same stool at the bar before going somewhere to eat dinner. I bought a bottle of Jack Daniels (which is like gold in Suisse) and have a private bottle still in its slot above the bar, like a numbered bank account. so when you come in at happy hour the bartender has your drink on the rocks at your favorite seat. Montreux is so amazingly beautiful and the people make the town a delightful blend of all cultures found in Switzerland. even the milk cartons have ingredients in French, German, Italian, Romanian, English. Nothing like a swim by the castle in the water at sunset with a view of Evian across the lac. Merci Montreux.
