We came for the art(an exhibit of contemporary Persian miniatures), and we eventually saw it — but getting inside was like pulling teeth. I showed up with 45 minutes before close. There’s a «Back in 15 Minutes» post-it on the door, but two people working inside; chatted with one, he wasn’t enthusiastic about letting people in so close to closing. I was still waiting for the other three in my group, so I didn’t push, and waited outside. A few minutes later, we’re all here — and the doors are locked, and the staff is nowhere to be seen. Not inside, not answering the phone, not out back for a smoke. We wait 15 minutes. Eventually, he shows up and(with some encouragement) lets us in. The exhibition is nice — four different artists, with some similarities but distinct styles — but it shouldn’t be this hard to visit an art gallery.
