Rollschuh Disco

Nun habe ich soeben mit Freunden entschieden, diesen Freitag den Circuit zu rocken *ahem* Nun ja wird wohl eher eine unkontrollierte Sache… :D
Wie bereits schon beschrieben — kommt zeitig dann gibt’s auch für grosse Füsse noch ein paar Rollschuhe =) Kleiner Tipp an grosse Mädels — die Männerrollschuhe sind nicht so eng geschnitten. höhö
Was die Treppen angeht — auch ohne Alkoholpegel ein schwieriges Unterfangen, auch hier ein Tipp: die Treppen rückwärts heruntergehen ;-)
Der einzige Nachteil, finde ich, ist der Circuit im Xtra — seeeehr klein und uneben (da Holzboden). Für Anfänger nicht leicht — für alle anderen dann ein Domino-​Spiel. Auch war der Boden letztes Mal ultra klebrig vom Bier, welches eigentlich ja nicht dort sein sollte…

Alleine die Idee ist grandios! Jedes Mal bin ich begeistert von der Stimmung und bin deshalb schon zum «Stammgast» avanciert. Die Stimmung ist friedlich, die Leute gut drauf und für die wöchentliche Portion Fitness ist auch gleich mitgesorgt.
Im Eintrittspreis (25.-) ist die Rollermiete dabei. Die nicht benötigten Utensilien können in einem der grossen, blauen IKEA-​Tüten an der Garderobe für 5.- abgegeben werden.
Geheimtipp: um die Treppe (erfordert die Meisterprüfung im Rollschuäh-​Stägä-​Stiigä) zu umgehen, gibt’s links neben der Garderobe einen Lift zum Floor.
Nebst der passenden 70’s/80’s/90’s Musik sind die schrillen Outfits sowie die bunte Deko oder die Bolognaisen Animation genug, sich für ein paar Runden auf den Circuit zu wagen. Getränke sind dort aber nicht erlaubt.
Am besten kommt man ganz früh (dann gibt’s noch alle Rollergrössen) und bleibt bis ganz spät (dann gibt’s endlich genug Platz für Pirouetten oder Sprints) :D

Ohlala. Da ging die Post ab. Im Retro Style.
Regelmässig (ca. einmal im Monat) verwandelt sich das xtra am Freitagabend in eine Rollerdisco. Für 25 Stutz Eintritt kriegt man gratis Leih-​Rollschuhe. Hier empfiehlt es sich, besonders grosse oder kleine Füsse zu haben oder einfach beizeiten da zu sein, sonst sind sie weg.
Die erste Hürde kommt dann auch gleich nach dem Anschnallen: Man muss mit den Dingern die Treppe hoch, und das kann ein Spass werden ;-) Übrigens sprechen wir hier von der uralten Quad-​Skates, also nicht die modernen, beliebten Inlinern.
Oben rollt der Bär dann auch schon. Auf einer relativ kleinen Fläche mit Holzbelag dreht das bunt gemischte Publikum zu guter alter Oldie-​80er-​Musik seine Runden. Bunt im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes, da hat’s lässige neon-​Outfits mit dabei und das Alter variiert von sehr jung bis ziemlich alt.
Getränke kauft man logischerweise an der Bar — 8.50 für ein Carlsberg (ca. 4dl), was anderes trank ich nicht. Getränke sind zum Glück auf dem Curcuit nicht erlaubt.
Alles in allem ein grosser Spass, wobei die Location die falsche ist. Der Floor, auf welchem man rumrollt ist sehr klein und somit heillos überfüllt — und somit wird das Rollen eher zum Schleichen.
Trotzdem: coole Idee, gute Umsetzung. 4 Sterne von mir.

Doors open at 22:000 and it is good to come early so that you can get shoes in your size.
The bad thing about the xtra is that you got to go up the stairs with to get to the skate floor. Next time I’ll make sure to put them upstairs and the same to go downstairs.
Inside the place was quite crowded and again, since I’m not so good I went on slowly. I tried not to fall, but after like an hour someone pushed me and down I went. fell really hard on my butt… even after 4 days it still hurts a bit ;P
fter that I needed a break and I skated very slowly. We also hanged out at the bar and had some drinks. Now the place was really packed and the more people drank the more there were falls.
So when a friend came later on and didn’t have skates I borrowed her mine so she could take a spin. It was great to get them off, since I think I took a size too small for me and I even made it to the middle of the dance floor and danced with some crazy roller dudes.
In all it was a fun night, also because of the group I went with and watching how people were dresses was also really funny! Total 70/80’s party. The songs got better and better, so I’ll come back again, but will be more careful next time ;)

Xtra is typically a night club that is for a couple nights each year turned into a Roller Skating rink for Rollerdisco evenings. Thus, the space for roller skating is small and the floor is not flat and smooth. But, you can’t be picky when their are no roller skating rinks to be found in Switzerland.
Be sure to come early when doors open at 10pm, because if you don’t have your own skates to bring, they most likely will run out of the popular sizes. For 25 CHF and a personal ID (be sure to keep the paper number in order to pick your ID back up at the end), you get a pair of quad skates and the ability to skate your heart away for the evening to music played by DJ’s from across multiple generations, so if you are a hater of the 70’s Disco era, do not fear, because they only played a couple of songs from that genre.
Once you have obtained your skates, you can rent a blue Ikea bag for 5 CHF to put all your personal belongings in and have stored (be sure yet again to not loose the paper number).
Once you have successfully put on your skates, be prepared to climb some stairs in order to gain access to the «rink» area. There is a bar serving libations and random places to sit outside the rink floor. Once the evening gets going the floor becomes a slow moving rolling sea of bodies, some of which dressed up in colourful attire. There is no end of wonderful people watching opportunities here. For those with real skating skills, you will find solo roller dancers showing off their funky moves in spaces they can find on the side.
A good evening out with friends, to get your «skate» on, enjoy some people watching, and groove to the music.

Super cool idea– I was really excited for this.
But when I arrived after 11, it was my size skate they missed.
(And my pals already had skates, so I was a bit pissed!)
There were too many folks, so all skating slow–
And the more they drank, the more hit the floor.
(And that stops the traffic even more!)
The music was nice while I was there.
And teenies and adults mixed without care.
So I would go back, but for 25 Franks–
