# bunk Taksim

Ok, I’m only rating the terrace bar (didn’t stay here) but I was impressed. The servers were absolute sweethearts and very polite and courteous, which is a change of pace compared to the kind of servers you usually encounter in Istanbul. The drinks were, I think, quite cheap considering the atmosphere. A not-​quite 50cl beer was 10tl on tap, but the cocktails were all around 20tl. So, since it’s on top of a hostel, there was a healthy mix of people there for the event I was attending and people who were just staying at the hostel itself. I liked that. Met great people and had a really nice evening. They closed up at 2am, which was a shame, but we were all already drunk and happy at that point anyway. Would go back, but it sure off the beaten path!

This was our first ever hostel, so we opted for one of the private rooms with two twin beds and our own shower (sharing a toilet with our floor-​mates was enough sharing for us). The room was spacious and had a sink — which was great for us to brush our teeth and wash our faces in without having to go into the communal bathroom. The only drawback of the room being the shower was glass-​enclosed, a weird choice for a two-​person room.

— accommodating for lone/​busy travelers: they offer different specials throughout the week for travelers to meet each other on their rooftop terrace (which is amazing and provides a fantastic view of the city, by the way), when we were there it was all you can eat pizza and wine for 35TL! we figured these events were perfect for those who traveled and explored all day long and may be too tired to adventure out for some dinner, or didn’t want to spend their night alone

— accepts euros, american dollars
— arranges private transportation to/​from airport at a flat rate
Cons
— a few bugs in our shower (small gnats, nothing too bothersome)
— shared toilet was pretty gross by the end of the night/​morning
— our 7:30am ride to the airport arrived a little after 8am

Wonderful staff, great facilities, very clean, super comfortable beds, great value, perfect location, and WIFI worked flawlessly. Also a delicious breakfast on the roof with an incredible view overlooking beautiful Istanbul. What more could i ask for? I’ve stayed in a number of hostels and this is my favorite one by far.

This is the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at! It’s modern, unique, funky and the place to be seen. This is for the upbeat, cool and fun people. There are tons of beautiful people staying here. I think people stay in average of 4 – 5 nights here. I’ m in a four person dorm and I love it! This place is like being in a boutique hotel. The rooms are spacious with luggage sized lockers with combo codes. Each bed has a bookshelf storage, personal light, sheets and towel. The bathrooms have a large overhead shower head, paper towels, foam soap, toilet paper and almost always clean. The bunks have enough room to sit up and not slam your head on the top. Good for someone if they are 6ft or taller too. The staff are so friendly and helpful
With all your needs. Free computers and wifi. Awesome location and amazing rooftop bar with the best view all day long of Istanbul. Foosball and Football games on. The only downside is the claim they have the «cheapest beer in town.» Bunk does not, the little grocery stores do. So unless bunk lowers their beer prices to store prices, they should stop advertising that and also take off the draft beer if you don’t have it for purchase. You only have one drink menu, it should be easy to take it off the menu and reprint a new one. Also if you keep your cheap beer slogan, lower the price a little or put it on happy hour as well. That’s my only complaint. I believe you’ll fix that before I return again so I’ll let you keep the 5 stars. If not, the next review may not be 5 stars. I will always stay here at Bunk Taksim when I come to Istanbul, as long as it stays this awesome! Thanks for a great 5 nights.
