ashby castle

Quite a small ruin of a castle but good in the summer. Not as expensive to get into as some places. It is an English Heritage property, not National Trust. My 6 year old enjoyed walking through the tunnel underneath the castle. It is a beautiful place. Not very big, you couldn’t spend a whole day out there but good as part of a day out along with visiting Ashby museum which is £1 each to enter. The castle isn’t very wheelchair/​pushchair friendly.
There is a small shop which sells different things associated with the castle and its history although, as would perhaps be expected, the things in the shop are quite expensive for what they are.

this is a national trust castle, It is mostly a ruin with one tower you can climb via lots of steps so not suitable for mobility disabled people. the ground do not have suitable paths for the pushchairs or wheelchairs and is gets very muddy when wet.
