Established in 1707.

Originally opened as far back as 1707, the leg of mutton has always been a focal point in the community. Having previously been a post office, Court room, Tavern and various other trades, The leg (formerly the Haunch of venison when opened) was the first Public house in Ashtead.

The Leg has just re-​opened after being closed for two months. No real change, still bare wooden floors and wooden chairs. The best that can be said is that it has character. It is popular with a certain crowd of locals.
Two real ales available London Pride and Black Sheep Bitter.

It is a few years since I went with a volunteers christmas party, so I do not know when the management changed! The cauliflower part must have been eaten, however someone their has up dated it since. So I hope they read this review!
