My name is Pete, I’m 26 years old and I’ve always had I passion for animals and their welfare, me and my wife Ana have 3 dogs (Mya, Shadow and Bronco), 1 Cat (socks) and an iguana (Liz). We also used to foster Cats for a rescue agency whilst I was based in Aldershot.

I have recently left the British army after serving 7 and a half years. I joined the rifles in 2007 and transferred to the Royal Army Veterinary Corps in 2012 as a dog handler. During my time in the army I handled and conducted training with protection and explosive search dogs, I have also done some work in a boarding kennels in Leicestershire so I have experience with many different breeds of dogs. Whilst in the army I also completed a level 2 Diploma in work-​based animal care.
