We are your friendly and local dog walking company. Delivered with care and compassion, we provide a variety of dog services that are tailored to your individual needs. We understand that your dog is a much loved member of your family, and whilst with us, will be a part of ours. As well as dog walking, some of our professional dog walkers offer home boarding and dog sitting solutions. We have set the bar high for quality of service and pride ourselves in being able to deliver the highest level of customer care.

History

Established in 2009.

Wacky Hounds was initially set up by Richard Gibb as Happy Hounds in 2009. Richard set the business up from humble beginnings with a small van, a self-​built website, a love of dogs and a lot of enthusiasm! Due to the success of the company, in 2012 Happy Hounds rebranded as Wacky Hounds, which is also a registered trademark. Wacky Hounds is now able to offer not only the existing and successful dog walking service in Ayrshire, but is now also able to give others throughout the UK the opportunity to be part of the Wacky Hounds brand, by becoming a Franchisee.

Richard has invested a lot of time and energy creating a business which meets the needs of dog owners and is fully aware of what it takes to run a successful and respected dog walking business. Hi, my name is Richard and I’m one of the founding directors of Wacky Hounds and have been a professional dog walker since 2009. I live in the village of Mauchline, East Ayrshire, but cover the Ayr area of South Ayrshire. My love of dogs stems from my childhood, when from a very young age, I would round up lots of dogs from my village, and take them for exhilarating countryside walks. My passion for dogs and for the countryside, led me to ditch the desk job for a career in professional dog walking. I cover Ayr (KA7 & KA8) of South Ayrshire. The walks that we have here are fantastic and very diverse. Some of my favourite haunts include: Auchincruive, Failford gorge walk, Croy shore and Mochrum hill. I tend to use these types of (out of the way) places, as I enjoy being out in the fresh air and countryside as much as my dogs do.
