We are a dispensing opticians and spectacle manufacturers with our own onsite lab. We cater for «that urgent job» with a 24 hour turnaround on custom made lenses, even for bifocals and varifocals. We were established in 1948 and are still in the same family ownership. Our prices start at £25 complete with lenses with over 600 frames to choose from. We have our own car park. All we need is an up to date prescription. We accept NHS and Eyecare vouchers of which will cover the complete cost of the glasses

Progressive Optical was founded in 1948 and has been serving many generations of the local community since. Priding ourselves on our service and integrity we strive to continue this adoption in the years to come

I started with this company in August 1967 under the watchful eye of my father who was one of the founders. I served a 5 year apprenticeship, but I along with my brother and our fellow lens maker we always keep up with the latest advances.
