Specialties

Kremlin is now well into it’s sixteenth year and has firmly established itself as the core of the gay scene in the North, and one of the best known venues in the whole of Ireland. One of the main reasons for it’s continued success comes down to it being Northern Ireland’s first genuinely gay-owned and managed venue.

The club’s layout and décor reflects an image of Soviet Russia. Don’t let it fool you though, as you will find a warm welcome and the hottest atmosphere inside. It’s three distinct areas; Tsar (a stylish cocktail lounge), the Long Bar (a two level disco bar) and Red Square (the 2 level club arena) which plays host to the best resident DJs, live acts and personal appearances.

The entire club is regularly transformed to provide a backdrop for a huge variety of theme nights ranging from Vegas Casinos to the Kremlin State Fair, not to mention our annual

Goscars awards ceremony, Halloween and Christmas transformations. Red Square has played host to some of the best PA’s on the club circuit with chart acts and cabaret stars from the 80s right up to the latest X-Factor contestants and international stars of Rupaul’s Drag Race, as well as regular tour stops from some of the UKs largest names including Poptastic and Gaydio.

With the current award winning formula, the ongoing expansions (Kremlin is now over three times bigger than it was when it first opened), and the friendliest up-for-it clubbers in the province, Kremlin continues to consolidate

its reputation a

As was traditional in Belfast at that time, Kremlin was emptied out onto the streets on its opening night after a hoax bomb scare was received. The source of the scare remains a mystery, but it misfired, as it catapulted Kremlin onto the front pages of the local and national press as drag queens danced in the streets on top of police landrovers.

In November 2000 the members lounge was remodelled as Tsar, a lavish public bar at the front of the building. This was followed by the clubroom being extended to become Red Square, Kremlin’s arena style clubroom

October 2005 saw the largest single investment in the gay community in Ireland with the combined redevelopment of the entire venue in a multi million pound project. In phase one, the Long Bar and Tsar Cocktail Bar were completely rebuilt, with n
