Meet the Business Owner

Barry B.

Business Owner

Barry was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and educated at Dundalk Grammar School and the University of Ulster. Thereafter he embarked upon a career in magazine publishing, working on several London based titles including the British Airways High Life and Business Life magazines.

At the beginning of 1989 he founded EMS, which was a year later to acquire the international financial journal, Offshore Investment of which he is Publisher and Chief Executive. In 1998 he relocated the company from London to Belfast taking advantage of the peace dividend and the re-​emergence of Belfast as a top flight business centre. During the last twenty years he has travelled extensively throughout the offshore world developing the journal, and a successful range of conferences and educational seminars.

He is married with three children. In his leisure time he enjoys practising his culinary skills and tending to the garden
