BBs Coffee & Muffins

Will never go back.
The service in this café is awful. There used to be a very nice older lady who worked here, she was very welcoming and cheerful, always busy while remaining attentive to the customers. I think she has left now and what remains is not pleasant! Whenever my family and I would visit Birkenhead we would pop in here for a coffee and a snack, now we avoid it completely. One time we visited we had ordered and were sitting down and were told rather aggressively that we were not to sit in this particular area– it was not cordoned off and there were other people sat eating. When this was pointed out, the member of staff simply said «that’s different, you can’t!». We then ate rather uncomfortably under his glare and left hurriedly.
For some reason, we visited again a few weeks after this for take out drinks. We had been earning loyalty stamps over the previous months, and presented the fully completed card to obtain our complimentary drink. This was not allowed however, some reason was invented to prohibit our claim and was vehemently argued until we finally walked out! We were told to write to head office if we wished to pursue the matter! All pretty melodramatic for a single cup of tea. It wasn’t just the refusal of the drink however, it was the attitude and behaviour of the staff all congregating, shouting us down and treating us like thieves!
