History

Established in 2007.

Flash Monkey Tattoo has been an active tattoo parlour for the past 8 years (Previously named Mersey Ink) with its base of operations finally settling in 2011 at Elm House Elm Street Birkenhead.

Over the past 6 years Lee has built up a very strong and loyal customer base welcoming both old and new, young (over 18 id required) and the more mature client, male or female, Veterans of tattoos or your first. Our companies aim is your satisfaction.

Meet the Business Owner

Lee R.

Business Owner

Lee has been tattooing for over 8 years but his passion for the art started long before that. Even in some of his earliest memories he can recall friends and family members being heavily involved in the tattoo world and his love for the art has grown larger with each passing day. However, it was on his twelfth birthday that the tattoo world truly took hold when he purchased his first book by Stefan Richter in 1985.

When Lee is not in the studio he can usually be found in his workshop where he loves nothing more than handcrafting his own tattoo machines. These are the same machines he uses in his day to day operations at Flash Monkey that are kept in top hygiene standard.

Lee knows that several artists and machinists are the source of his inspiration including Shige, Charlie Wagner and Sutherland Macdonald along with fellow machinists Arron Caine, Todd Hlavaty and Guy Atkinson.

One of Lee’s favourite styles of tattoo is Japanese but he is comfortable in all styles.
