Ah… where do we start… we specialise in all things beauty, grooming and spa, plus plenty of therapeutic treats thrown in.

If you’re looking for fabulous Dermalogica facials or spa body treatments, awesome Jessica manicures or pedicures, a positive cornucopia of massages, CACI non-​surgical facelifts, YoungBlood make-​up, expert waxing or IPL hair removal, lash & brow treatments, spray tanning, gel or acrylic nail extensions, holistic therapies, luxurious spa packages, girlie get-​togethers, treatments for men and under 18’s…you’ve found the place!

How can we do so much? Cos we’re independent, experienced, and want you to have the best time possible… whatever you come to us for!

History

Established in 2010.

We started in December 2010 from the seeds of a vague idea and a lot of help from friends. Our first month was spent pounding the Arcade (and the streets of Brum till we got told off cos we didn’t have a licence!), thrusting flyers at the few brave people who had come out in the awful snow!

We work as a team. We recruit friendly, approachable, dedicated and talented individuals who want to learn, contribute to and be part of a great business. As a result we hope you’ll be able to develop a relationship with your therapist because he or she is with us for the long-​haul.

As an independent business we are not supported by other income — we’re not a loss-​leader for a hotel or an ill-​conceived add-​on to a gym — we totally rely on the quality of work we produce. We just do what we’re good at, and if we don’t do it well enough: we listen to the feedback, we address the problem, and we deliver better (see Jessica D’s review of 20.11.12).

So, it’s midnight, I’ve had a couple of glasses of wine, and they want me to write a Bio?! What can I say?

I’ve had a long and crazy life — brought up in Holy Island (an island at the top left hand corner of Wales) — I’ve live in lots of places and had lots of jobs. But I first came to the Midlands in 1998 as a married woman, working as an IT consultant & living in Kent. That’s quite a leap to being a divorced, Spa owning new-​mum living in Coventry!

Whilst working in IT I became a triathlete — taking part in Ironman, the World Championships and other such events — and from IT I moved into personal training, then sports massage and so to At One… I was 7 months pregnant with my first child at the age of 42 when we opened At One (yes, I did think I was superwoman!). My daughter (Daisy) and my Spa have grown up together — I’m still not sure which has got the raw deal (probably my partner, Stuart!).

But I love it — my family, my colleagues, my work, my business — it’s great!
