Ayoub is currently a practising Barrister specialising in the area of Crime, Immigration, Election Law and Family. Ayoub was instrumental and described by the presiding Commissioner as the «backbone» of the petitioners case in the 2004 (Iqbal & others v Islam & others). This case was the first successful petition of this kind and highly publicised prompting change in Electoral legislation.

As Counsel, Ayoub has represented clients in cases that range from murder to serious drug conspiracies and complex frauds. He receives regular instructions in both the Magistrates and Crown Courts under the direct public access scheme.
