Myself and my Partner visited this restaurant on Sunday 21st November 2010 at around 5pm. The car park was full, and I had to park away from the pub. I find this very annoying when there are so many empty disabled spaces. There should not be so many disables parking spaces in my opinion. We went inside and were told we would have to wait THIRTY minuets for a table. This was extremely disappointing. We got a drink and had to wait at the bar, as there was nowhere to move to. We noticed a group of four people who came in about 5 mins after us, were given a table straight away. We also noticed that there were at least 2 empty tables for two people available, yet we were kept waiting. Other people were trying to get served at the bar, and we were pushed out of the way. Twenty minuets later I noticed the group of four who came in after us, were enjoying their meals, whilst we were still waiting. This is very unfair. Just because there was only two of us, it doe not justify putting other people before ourselves. It should be first come, first served. We waited the thirty minuets, by which time the restaurant was so full of crying babies and children, we decided to leave. We both really felt badly let down, and left hungry and annoyed. We dont mind waiting 5 or ten mins but not half an hour. And I dont see why other people should be seated before us, when they came in after us. We cant comment on the food, cus we never got to try it!

this used to be sawyers american restaurant. now it is a toby carvery. we have visited at lots of different times on lots of different days and have always managed to get a seat without booking. the staff are lovely and the chef always gives large portions of the meat. the vegetables are self serve and are always a good quality. the menu also has other delicious items on and they do a carvey sandwich. reduced prices for children. they have early bird specials. its a shame that they got rid of the mint sundae pudding as it was gorgeous. vaue for money at £7 for a lovely carvery
