International Stock Distributors

Don’t expect quality, but do expect tat, perhaps an odd item that you need for DIY that saves you buying a pack of 10 for example, or an odd light fitting that saves you buying brand new. But the prices should reflect that, but rather than being half price or less, they’re more like only a 10% reduction off the full price. I try and avoid it now, especially as car park is always full due to people using it to shop on the high st. In the past it used to be a great place to pick up a bargain, but it is a shadow of its former self.

I find this store very bizarre. I had heard about finding hidden treasures in here from various friends and decided to have a look for myself. Well, upon visiting I was quite overwhelmed. It was like walking into a warehouse just full of clothes, make up, accessories and furniture. It reminded me of an indoor market, only without the stalls and without the people and the food! I immediately went to have a look at the clothes, but to be honest they were not really to my taste. You could probably come across some good bargains, but I would not have the patience to root around in there day after day. The toiletries and accessories are quite good as they are all really cheap and you can find standard brands in there. I found the furniture to be the oddest aspect of the store, I mean, there was no order or proper display for anything and it all seemed just randomly placed in any space. It was all a bit strange. I think it is a good store if you have the patience to look around properly and look for a bargain.

International Stock is basically a store full of miscellaneous goods that have been sold on due to lack of success elsewhere. From cosmetics, picture frames, men’s quilted jackets and dog leads, International Stock may contain a load of trash or some gems depending on what they’ve been able to get in (and what your tastes are).
It’s always worth a visit, as I’ve heard many a story and seen many a impressive finds that people have snapped up after being in the right place (International Stock) at the right time, however when what time that is remains a mystery. You just have to make a habit out of going there in case they’re (unknowingly) flogging a collectable range of very expensive Samurai swords.

This store is the very embodiment of pot luck… but on a warehouse-​sized scale. In essense what this place does is sell off stock that couldn’t /​wouldn’t sell elsewhere, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that everything inside is rubbish!
What keeps you going back in is that odd occasion that you find a bargain. I remember a few years back that they stocked a massive selection of brand-​new vinyl — literally too much to go through in one, two or even 10 visits. Eventually this was cherry-​picked clean until only the genuine rubbish remained, but it’s the off-​chance of something like this having newly arrived that makes you pop your head around the door.
Aside from a seemingly permanent clothing section (which never has anything to my tastes, sadly) there’s no real order to the rest of the place. Widescreen TVs could be sat next to Children’s Play equipment, and next to some car parts, or plumbing spares. It’s a total mixture — and occasionally you strike gold.

It’s a really strange place, and how it manages to survive is a mystery. It’s like a cross between a jumble sale, and the returns department at Argos. Sometimes bargains can be had (nice Ben Sherman shirt for £5) while other items seem outrageously expensive. I’ve seen some the same things stay there for year after year without selling. Staff aren’t the friendliest, and usually there is someone following you to watch that you aren’t shop lifting, which is odd as most of the tat you’d be grateful to lose!

This reminds me of the old rag market, its like a bazaar of items thrown on shelves for you to look through, in all honesty I was not impressed. Considering the size of the store and the location I expected more quality and a much better range. The only way I can describe the stuff in here was general tat. The prices for toys and electrical goods that I could see were not overpriced considering its not the type of place you could really return stuff too. The staff barely look at you when they are serving you and are too busy chatting to even notice whethor your male, female, human or alien.
