After work me and some friends collectively craved a Chinese takeaway after a hard days work. For a Chinese takeaway to be good for me it doesn’t take a lot — reasonable prices, ordinary service and grease laden food are my main criteria. Yet Lee Garden unfortunately even fell short of my criteria. The service was incredibly slow, the prices didn’t correspond with the lukewarm and questionable quality and nature of my food.
I don’t think I’ll be returning to Lee Garden any time soon, perhaps my experience was exceptional but judging from the tone of the other reviews and of my friends response to their food I think a visit to Lee Garden tends to be a disappointing experience.

Whilst at a friends we were feeling pretty peckish so decided to order a take away.
My friend had only recently moved to the area so she had yet to choose her local take away of choice.
We decided to raid her letterbox as she had been inundated with take away menus and other junk mail. We found one for Lee Garden and decided to place an order for delivery.
I ordered my favourite main, chicken satay skewers with a side of egg fried rice. I normally love this but unfortunately my chicken was rather chewy and the sauce was really runny (it’s normally thick and tasty).
We also had to wait for over an hour for delivery when we were told 30 mins.

Lee Garden offers a diverse menu with better-​than-​average prices and a local delivery service, but the waiting area is depressing, the staff are unfriendly and food is far from satisfactory. I decided to try this backstreet takeaway after it was recommended to me by a friend and sadly, I winded up very disappointed.
The settee in the waiting area was covered in grubby, unsightly stains and the white painted walls and beige tiled floors didn’t exactly give off what you’d call an appealing Chinese ambience. I have to give Lee Garden credit on their quick turnaround, as my food was ready as soon as I arrived for collection, around 15 minutes after phoning in. When I got home to eat, however, the chicken curry I ordered tasted a tad strange and the few pieces of chicken in the concoction were pink in the middle. I’d recommend going elsewhere.
