History

Established in 2011.

In 15 years working both afloat and ashore for a number of sailing holiday companies, I’ve met countless people who were unsure where best to sail and how to decide between the thousands of yachts offered by hundreds of operators.

So I set up Sailing Choices which works with many of the providers and enables me offer you a one stop shop. You can compare the different options and get impartial advice both through my website and by email or phone.

It won’t cost you more and it may well save you money. It will help you pick the right type of holiday, on the right yacht, in the right place, with or without flights. No previous experience needed, just a desire to go sailing in the sun. Definitely something everyone should try at least once in a lifetime.

After some years in the rat race I packed it all to work on a yacht. I was a latecomer to sailing but it seemed a good idea at the time despite my then limited skills.

I worked up the ranks and spent several happy seasons in the Mediterranean before ending up as an instructor on the south coast of England. One particularly wet and windy winters day in the middle of the English channel (with a bunch of students who seemed determined to kill me) I decided enough was enough — I needed more sun!

After another summer in Med I ended up as Operations Manager for a London based specialist, sailing a desk but at least with plenty of trips to check up on the staff and the yachts!

The problem was I could only offer customers our holidays, even if that wasn’t best for them. So I set up Sailing Choices which means I can now offer yachts and holiday packages from numerous operators and give you impartial advice to help you find the sailing holiday that’s right for you.
