Astley Park is a small local park. There is a medium sized field to play on. They have recently updated and modernized the children’s play area which is quite functional but mostly aimed at the younger child. There used to be a basket ball court which they have since dismantled and now placed one single hoop and some older children’s climbing frame. There is also a bowling green which is usually fenced off when not in use so I am not sure if this is now member only or not.

A decent little park in Astley Bridge in a convenient location(very close to Asda and all the local shops). There’s a fair-sized field which backs onto a local secondary school(Thornleigh Salesian) which our two kids(aged 3 and 5) use for kicking a ball around — although it doesn’t seem to drain especially well when it’s rained. The Council have also invested in the playground facilities near the main road, and there are now some good quality swings, slides and climbing-frames for the kids to enjoy. Parking is a bit of an issue — you can’t park on Moss Bank Way itself, so try Broad O’ Th’ Lane. All in all, worth a visit if you’re passing.
