It might not be fair to rate a store during one of the busiest seasons of the year, but needs must. This store is far too small for the amount of people that were in there, but wasn’t helped by the amount of stock they had on the floor. I was very worried that I would knock over the entire display of boxed Christmas cards… and then all of the wrapping paper. I guess if their stock room isn’t that big, you need somewhere to put it all, but if the stock room could hold the extra stock, I would remove some of it from the floor because it is so congested inside. At one point I was just stuck, couldn’t move around because there were people everywhere. Staff that were replenishing cards were quite oblivious to the fact that there were so many people in the store and that they may have been blocking a section that everyone seemed to be keen to get to. Of course, I sympathize with them, but when an elderly lady had asked if she could take a quick look at a card that one of the staff happened to be blocking a bit, the staff member gave her a look. And by look, I don’t mean the look of love… but a ‘how dare you interrupt me’. The staff member reluctantly moved, but only ever so slightly. I was also a little disappointed with the selection of cards. I didn’t find everything I was looking for, which usually doesn’t happen. I had trouble finding a nice card for my BFF, my brother and his family, and Mr. Snarky. The cards in those sections were either very limited or looked quite… chintzy. When I was in Grantham, I always went to Clinton and found lovely cards, but here, it just seemed like the selection was a bit limited. Still on the hunt for cards and am striking out… maybe I’ll get the crayons out and let the kittens do some colouring ;)
