I came here with my family and extended family and we’re bitterly dissapointed with every aspect of the place. Half our table managed to go up and get food after a 45 minute queue. We were then greeted by a rude carver who gave so small and thin meat that we thought we had maybe upset him some how. We then moved down the line to have horrible mushy over cooked and dry everything else. We then sat down to let the rest of the table go and get there food which took another 45 mins for them to reach the front of the queue by which point we had completely finished our food as we decided after 20 mins we could not wait any more. We then confronted the manager and the excuse is under staffing. On a weekend service that is an unacceptable answer. There needs to be some contingency in the event of minimal staff especially in a large company like Mitchell and butlers. Relief chefs from other sites. Very dissapointed we have been to many different toby carvery and while they are not all amazing this is by far the worst I have had the displeasure of eating at. Stay away.

I must admit this was my first English meal in 14 years and it was great. The turkey and ham were cooked great, the carver was friendly and helpful. You cannot beat the price and the endless Yorkshire puddling’s and veg were great. You cannot beat the price or ambiance.

This Toby Carvery was a surprise to me. It was quite nice. I was rather worried about the type of people going there considering the location. The Carvery features roasted meats, such as turkey, gammon and beef. Then you choose your veg, such as, cauliflower, potatoes, carrots and parsnips. The carver was skimping on the meats. If you want two kinds of meat you have to say so at the beginning and he will cut you the thinnest slices he can. The stuffing was inedible, as it was dried up and crumbling. There is a selection of gravies to choose from. The carver this night was sloooooow. The queue was very long and they make it snake around as they don’t want people in front of the kitchen door. However, be warned there were a lot of heavily obese people dining there and they had their plates loaded up. But for an inexpensive carvery this is great.
