I love this shop, it has a huge window display full of old film cameras and lenses. There isn’t much actually inside the shop, because they tend to display it all in the windows. I like this style of shopping, as I hate asking questions about things if I’m not fully sure I’m going to buy it. So this way I can see if they have a particular brand of lens, and then go in and ask. I’ve been in to buy a cable release for a film camera before, and the member of staff that dealt with me was very helpful. He first offered me a new one, which was a lot more expensive than I imagined! So I told him I was on a budget and he mentioned they stock second hand ones for a fraction of the price. They do sell new digital cameras as well, but their speciality is second hand film cameras. There aren’t many shops like this around now, so I hope they manage to survive. The prices are reasonable, of course you will likely find items like this cheaper on ebay, but it’s always a gamble. Staff are helpful, I once phoned up wanting a particular type of camera and the lady on the phone had a good look to find what I wanted, which unfortunately they didn’t have. I think it’d be helpful if they had an updated list of stock online as I know similar companies do. This way it’s easy to check what new items they get in, as second hand stock will likely change daily, and the best items will go quickly! It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I encourage anyone interested in taking photos to go have a look. Maybe even pick yourself up a cheap film camera and some film and give it a go!
